I'm thinking of doing this tour in September. The tour dates are Sept 28 - Oct 6. Who has done this tour? I've got a couple of questions:

1. I heard that you have to take a tazi from airport to hotel, did you have any problems? What did it cost you? How far was the hotel from the airport? etc

2. Do you recommend doing this trip?

3. How was it?

4. Did you get your turkish visa at the airport?

I've recently been to Istanbul, but this was an independent trip. Taxi drivers in Turkey are constantly overcharging tourists. Its better to take the public transport from the airport to any hotel. The metro is modern and efficient.

Turkey is interesting , but there are lots of vendors haggling tourist at the majority of sites. Lots of scams to watch out for.

Visa wise its a cost of US20 at the visa counter booth prior to the immigration.
