Anyone thinking about doing Turkish Delight next summer?

I'm definately considering doing the Turkish Delight tour in 2009. Ideally I'll be doing it in late July/early August (so hot, but the only time I can go!).

When were you thinking of going?

I'm not sure yet. I'm going to be in Europe for about four months, so it'll really depend on dates and such. It will most likely be in June or early August. Let me know which one you're going on when they post the dates!

That sounds like a cool trip. I'm hopefully going to do the Road to Athens trip before the Turkish Delight, so it will all depend on the dates for the other tour. I hope I don't have to choose between the two as I'd be so torn!

i'm thinking of doing the Turkish Delight tour the 16th of August. anyone else? i was wondering, does anyone know if you are allowed swimming in the REAL ancient thermal pools, as this is the main highlight of the trip for me (and i would be very disappointed if all we got to do is take pictures of it)

I am thinking about doing the tour in early July 2009. Also thinking about the Egypt and Nile tour... so dates will depend on that as well. Has anyone done a contiki tour before?

Hey Sarah... did you decide not to go with contiki then? I have heard good and bad things about the tours.... just curious if you are using another tour company or not

I actually ended up not including Turkey in this trip... I'm hoping to go in spring 2010.

But I had decided not to go with Contiki. Never having been on their tours, I can't judge them fairly, but from researching other tour operators and reviews... I'm pretty certain Contiki isn't what I wanted out of my trip. That being said though, I think a Contiki tour group in Turkey would be different than a 2 week party tour through Western Europe.

Intrepid and Imaginative Traveler both have great options for Turkey tours though. They have small groups and the places they go to are much more impressive, and much more varied. One of the Imaginative trips goes to Mount Nemrut in the East.

So if you're looking for more options, I'd try those two.
