I'm tempted by the 'Best of USA' tour, I think this would be my preferred date...

One thing bothers me though, that's the question that's probably been posted a million times before.... Is this tour just one big party? I like to see things whilst i'm on a holiday like this, not just spend the days with people who are grumpy because they're hung over the whole time...

Hey Jess, How old are you and where are you from?? Yeah there seems to be lots of people travelling alone which is good!
Also, Paul the tours are formed of quite large groups so the people who want to go partying can, and the people who'd prefer not to can do more sightseeing. I think the groups usually split up into smaller groups with the same interests.

Yeah I'm from England, so a long way from the USA too, just in the opposite direction!
I'm pretty gutted that a stopover in Hawaii isn't an option for me, as I'm sure lots of people visit on the way from Australia.

Hi everyone My Wife & I are about to book this tour for 6th June 2009 middle of next week
My Name is Mick & i will be 34 by the time we go & My wife is Nicole shs is 28 we are from Maitland NSW Australia ( near newcastle) we will eb arriving in Anaheim 3rd june & staying on for 2 extra nights in New york then on way home to Sydney having 5 day stopover in hawaii...
I have done 2 european Contiki Tours & Nicole has done 1 Euro trip..
I am looking forward to going back to USA & this tour sounds great...

I'm staying at the Contiki Resort a couple of days before too so we should be able to catch up before the tour starts on the 6th.

Are you (or anyone for that matter) booking any 'extra' activities/tours etc from here before you go? I.e Disneyland, Universal, Alcatraz, vegas show etc etc.

It's only about 5 months away now!! I'm sure it will go very slowly though!!

I was planning to pre book the Alcatraz tour before as apparently they get booked up in advance, if any others want to do it, we should all book for the same day, so we're not all doing it alone!!

I'm definately up for Disneyland too. God I cant wait for this holiday!

Also, am I the only person from the UK booked on this tour so far? Fortunately there seems to be lots of other girls travelling alone too though, does anyone else like partying?

I'm 26yo girl from Sydney travelling by myself. Arriving in LA on the 5th, staying the night at Best Western Stovall's Inn, which is the meeting place. (Already booked a room with 2 beds, 1 is available if someone wants to share). And after the trip staying for 2 more nights in NYC (haven't booked a hotel yet). First time travelling alone, can't wait to meet you all

Just checking today 6th Jan & this tour is full for the 6th of june departure wohooo.....
Nic & I arrive in LA 3rd june staying at Anaheim Best Western Stovall inn we planning to do Universal on 4th
We are also wanting to do Alcatraz & have been told to book before heading to USA..
We also staying on for a couple of extra nights in N.Y at the
Holiday Inn Midtown 57th street it was reccomended to us by out travel agent...
Cant wait only 152 days i think now lol
