I am also going on Jan 8th - fits in perfectly with school holidays and wanted to be home for Christmas and New Year. Am very glad I'm not the only one goin alone and means we may be roomed togeth =) if ur not doin a single room! Def agree that this trip sounds the best - very up for flying and not being on a bus. So what do you do with yourself? I'm @ uni - primary teaching but also teach in a school atm =) very excited haha which is sad coz its still a year away hahaha

Wow how funny im actually a primary school teacher I graduated from uni almost 2 years ago and now teach grade 3/4! Which is obviously why i have to do that date. However ive just realised the weather is going to be very cold in Jan over there so now im wondering whether its a good time to go! Have you considered the weather?

Yeah its ages away i would love to do it sooner, but might need a bit of time to save my money as ive only just decided to do a tour! Would be awesome to know someone before we head off and already we seem to have a bit in common as in age and career!

Wow I guess we do have a lot in common which is awesome and agree will be good to kno someone before we leave in like a hundred months hahahaha i was meant to finish 2 yrs ago too but changed my career and took time off so will finish at the end of this year!

did consider the weather but seein as tho we can only do school hols think jan allows enough time unlike the 2 wk hols. it will be cold in NY but dont think as cold in LA and stuff coz they have like 305 sunny days a yr this tour is def the one i want to do though - will be awesome fun and is far enough away to save all the money haha

So how are the 3/4s treating you? I teach art atm so its very full on with uni but great experience!

Well we just had 2 weeks holiday so today was first day at school in a while, the kids are pretty good although I work at a tough school so they keep me on my toes.

I haven't looked much into the weather or anything in the places on the tour as like i said ive only just seriously decided to do the tour! so ill have to do some research. I was tossing up between Europe or USA and obviously I decided upon this one, i think ive seen too many movies haha and like the look of the big cities.

I was deciding between Europe and America too!!! decided that I would want to do Europe in summer and like you I love tv on dvd so america is very me coz of all the big cities too haha and this tour looks amazing and heaps of fun!!!

have you booked the tour yet? Ill do some more research and let you know when i decide for sure if im going to do it or not! I really want to now that i know i wont be doing it alone so to speak!

wow your booked already! Thats awesome. Ive been looking around at all the other tours and there is one that goes for 26 days that id love to do but the times dont suit so im pretty sure this is the one im going to do!!

Have you looked into flights? roughly how much they are. I was talking to a friend and she reckons its definitely an amazing experience and she lived in USA for a year and said weather wise its not too bad that time of year.

yeh i booked it so i know i am going and dont say ill go and never do haha need to get myself into gear!!

asked the contiki person about flights she gave me a quote as if i was going this yr and its roughly around the 2000 mark mayb a little more. plus u have to stay one extra nite at the start and end of the tour so u have that expense do. so prob aroun 5500 for the tour and flights which is a lot but because ur not on a bus its awesome lol

Yes im one for saying and never doing lol but this is something i really wanna do so! only thing is i think im wanting to do a contiki tour at the moment cause ive just become single and so i want to do it on my own now but i know that if in Jan 2011 im in a relationship not sure how id go going away on hols without being able to experience it with him haha but thats just my weird way of thinking! Maybe i should book then im committed and wont be able to change my mind

Hmmm flights are expensive when you add them. But with so much time to save it shouldnt be too bad. Staying the extra night to start with would be a bit scary haha ill make sure i stay with you or else god knows where ill end up. I freak out when i step off the plane in Melb in regards to how busy it is compared with here.
