Has anyone noticed that the dates have been removed for some of the tours this year?
I was going to do this tour, but currently looking at other options ie combining LA to the Bay and NY New Year. I'm a bit worried about how cold its going to be over there though!

Yeah i have noticed that. When you first click on North America tours, it is supposed to list all the tour name opeating in north america - the best of USA isn't even listed as an available tour

Hi i'm goin on this tour with my boyfriend and very close friend, it is for our 21st we are soo excited. My birthday is on the 17th, we are all from the gold coast and this is our first tour.

We are a bit worried bout the snow/cold in ny, any ideas on wat type of clothes we will need to take??? like snow jackets?? i have been told it gets to just 2deg

Thinking of either staying in NY for NYE after, or going on the eastern discovery starting in NY on the 26th (anyone know where NYE will be on this one?). Anyone got anything planned for after the tour yet?

I think for the Eastern Discovery tour, you will be in St. Augustine in Floride for NYE.

I'm heading to Miami for NYE straight after tour. I couldnt go to the USA and come home without seeing Miami - and NYE was really the only time i could go there!!!! I'm sure NYE on at miami beach will be great!!!

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what airlines contiki use with this tour?

I will probably spend a week in LA before the trip (to take advantage of cheap off-peak flights which finish on the 9th dec) and will stay in NY for new years (mainly cuz i am in love with new york and i know now that i won't want to leave) and i have promised myself that I will see as many broadway shows as is possible.

Another cool thing is that i would hav my 19th birthday on this tour - the 18th!! haha

Staying for 1 more day in NY, before heading to Hawaii for NYE...

For clothing, someone told me to wear layers. Cos of course when ur indoors with heaters and stuff u can unwrap. But outside... we're bracing ourselves cos it's the dead of winter in NY...

Can't wait to meet you all - it's still a long way off but it'll be here sooner than we know it!!

I am doing this tour in aug but i thought i would let denise know about what looks to be a good and reasonably priced hostel in n.y. i heard about on another thread and have checked it out and compared it to other n.y hostels and booked it myself. it is the Broadway Hotel and Hostel. it is a boutique hostel on the upper west side. hope this helps.

I just booked this trip!! I am staying to do the New York, New Year as well. I will be arriving in LA on the 9 Dec, going to Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland before the tour begins.

I'll be travelling solo, so I hope everyone is friendly haha. And I'll be turning 19 on the trip. Will anyone else be under 21, ie not able to drink? (i'm a non-drinker anyway) I just don't want to be abandoned when you all go into pubs and clubs etc.

I am on China Airlines flying to LA via Taipei (arrive on 9 december)
Staying in Super 8 Anaheim for 4 nights before tour. (doing Knott's and Disney)
Staying in Best Western President Hotel for 2 nights in New York before the tour.
Fly out of New York on 28 December.

our plans are almost exactly the same:

- 9 Dec SYD to LA
- 14 Dec to 26 Dec BEST of USA
- 26 Dec to 28 DEC remain in NY
- 28 Dec NY to Honolulu until 10 Jan

we're looking for Waikiki accomodation atm, just cos it's peak over NYE.

and we're undecided about where to stay in LA. not sure if we should remain in Anaheim (where we'll be for the tour anyway, but we can definitely do Disneyland and Knotts) or venture downtown (5 days is heaps of time to explore LA but don't want to double up on what'll be done on the tour)...
