I'm thinking about going on this tour in 2008 by myself sometime next year and was wondering if anyone else here is thinking about doing this tour solo also next year.

Yes. I'm definitely going as long as they run it and I can get a spot! And more than likely, I am going by myself.

I've been looking at other combinations but theres only one date up so far for Big Apple Explorer and it doesn't meet up right with any of the west coast tours I was looking at. So unless I end up doing one of STA's RTW trips, I'm definitely going Best of USA!

I'm doing London, Paris, Rome in December with my boyfriend so I' think I'll be a reasonably confident to go on my own a few months later.

I was really exited when I found this tour because it's exactly what I wanted to do in 2008. I'm thinking of going around this time June/July so it will be summer over there, and thats when I told my boss I was going. I'm going with a friend because I was too chicken to go by myself..Haha Fingers crossed that they will do this tour next year, Pretty sure they will and 99.99% sure you'll see me there

I just wanted to let you guys know that going solo on a Contiki tour is great fun. You will meet friends, I went to Italy with Contiki by myself and had a great time and I still keep in touch with a few people who were on the same tour... don't be scared to go on your own!
