Hey guys,

I am really interested in doing this trip - it focuses on pretty much all the things that I want to see in America. But its a bit hard to judge how much the whole trip would cost, so I have a question for anyone whose already booked the trip...

How much did it cost for:
The tour
A return flight from Australia
Domestic flights between each city

And.. did you get a return flight from Los Angeles (and get another Domestic back from New York) , or did you fly straight into Los Angeles and straight out of New York?

Any replies would be really appreicated!

Cheers,
Erin.

Hi Erin,
These are my rough costs so far (AUD)...
The tour is $2399
International flights $2500 (Qantas)
Domestic flights $560 (American Airlines)

My departing flight leaves from NY, stops in LA then on to Brisbane.

I also paid $200+ for travel insurance.

Hey Erin,
My grand total for this trip came to just over $6200. That includes the tour, flights to and from Melbourne, Domestic flights inside the U.S. Insurance and 3 nights extra after the tour. My flights from Australia were booked through Contiki and therefore are cheaper. They go through Qantas and the flight from NY is a via LA where I will switch planes and fly on to Melbourne. (the flight out of NY refuels in LA and then flies on to Sydney).

hi
the domestic flights on tour are included in the price.
so you'll pay $2999 AUD fr the tour
the flights, depending from where you live are around $3000
then you just need to think about accommodation before and after tour.
spending money, food (some is included in the price of the tour) entrance to theme parks etc etc Smiler

I've done the same - except $100 USD per day, which I think will be plenty.

I'm actually moving to London after this tour, so we're spending a week in Hawaii beforehand and about 4 days in New York after the tour.

The grand total for me is $6,500 NZD ($5,500 AUD)
