hey andre.. depending on what tour you're planning on doing i think it would b best 2 book ahead. cos no doubt like the rest of us you r doinh something thats very touristy and will probably get booked out for the time u want.. most of us r doing some form of grand canyon tour.. not that ive booked mine yet.. i've decided agaisnt Alcatraz.. doesnt really do it 4 me, but i'm doing the sunset sailing adventure in San Fran cos it goes past it & is apparently a great way to c the golden gate bridge and take in the sights..

I'm from the GC too (close 2 chevron ish), where abouts r u from & wat day r u leaving. i fly out 1st aug on China airlines.

I am so much MORE excited than I was about this trip, after reading all the posts! )

I am from a girl from Sydney, 21 and can't wait til we all get to start our tour together!

I have not looked into what activities I want to do- is there a list we can pick from? Sorry, a bit new to this, this is my first time overseas and so my first Contiki tour as well.

I am flying in on the Friday (1st) and staying at the Contiki hotel..I have a Universal Studios tour booked for the Saturday (2nd) which includes a drop off from & back to the hotel, if anyone else is going to Universal on Saturday, pls let me know )

I definately want to do Disneyland on one of the free days we have in LA, and thats why I chose to do Universal before the tour.

I have Facebook too: please look up 'Tsae-Fen Liew' (think I'm the only one lol), I'll explain how to corectly pronounce my very complex name lol when we meet in person, but this may help: the "Tsae" is deceiving spelt, and is actually pronounced "chai" if that makes sense )

Michael: Alcatraz sounds good, how and who did you go about booking this with?

Is anyone going for Contiki's Optional Extras at all on any days of thr tour, i.e. not booking aany/or all extra activities in advance, but deciding whilst on the Tour, meaning that Contiki organises this for you and then you pay then (see Pg 6 of the Info Borchure)?

Is everyone planning to go to Disneyland on the 5th or 6th? Can't wait for Disneyland!! Some people have said you need more than 1 whole day to see it all, but some say you don't lol....what is everyone's take on this? lol

Hi Karina - did you book via the Alcatraz Cruises site (the site Contiki provided on their website under 'optional excursions), I found the $24.50 9am 7th Aug tour (Early bird) but wanted to make sure you guys weren't going with some other company lol

I also looked into Disneyland tickets, always best to get those tixs before hand as I can imagine the line will be very long!
Since I'm doing Universal before the tour, I want to spend 2 days @ Disneyland and California Adventure Park (have heard there is a lot of see and do! and the lines for rides may get long too) so getting the 2 day park hopper pass, see the link below if you are interested and let me know if you are going this too...
