Thanks Michelle,

I appreciate it all, I am going into travel agent tomorrow to book my flights. when are you leaving? Maybe I can see if I can get on same flight. I don't want to stay at anaheim either due to it being far out. I'll let you know how I go with flights and then we can talk about accom if our dates match etc. cheers

hi,
I have booked my flights. I am flying to LA on the 28th August at 10.15am, at this stage have only booked accom in Anaheim for the 30th August. Was thinking that I'll book the same accom in LA as you Michelle and then maye we can do universal studios on the 29th and head to anaheim on the 30th? as I know it didn't suit you to go to universal studios the day Nikki and Jen are planning on going? If that doesn't suit you I will get my travel agent to book anaheim for the 28th and 29th and I might head to universal studios with Nikki and Jen. I have also booked the North to North East tour Nikki. I am a bit unsure of how I feel about doing to contiki tours back to back! Then from Chicago when tour finishes I am flying to UK at 10pm that night for 10 days and then home with a stop over in Hong Kong!

It would be fantastic if you can get into the same hostel and we do Universal studios together-much better than being alone. The 29th will be perfect, i will make my other touristy things fit around that date.one thing is I am definately going to get the front of line pass which is a bit dearer but seems totally worth it - no waiting for an hour for a ride! so i hope you don't mind getting one also? I guess we could also share the fare for the ride into anaheim on sat morning aswell?

hi Michelle,
That sounds great. I will have a look now and book accom if I can. can you also book universal studios online? it makes sense to share the fare to anaheim. I'll let you know how I go.

I just looked at the universal website and yes tix can be bought online. it might be worth checking what our travel agents can get them for as you either have to print them at home or pay an extra us$19 for postage. the price for a front of line pass in august(peak time!) is us$119 (about $128 australian.)

i just saw your post about booking at the hostel, did you get a private room or a dorm? it will be very reassuring to have someone else there, most of my friends and family can't get over me going o/s alone. i can't friggin wait!!

I got a private room - don't like the idea of sharing with heaps of people. You just never know do you!

Yeah I did notice the pancakes, but not the inflatable pool! how funny! Hey I am going to see if I can change my fights to arrive on the 27th at night so then I will have all day on the 28th. Maybe we can do something that day too? Did you have any ideas? I am used to travelling by myself but feel a bit nervous being in LA as solo female. My travel agent said that hotel in NY is dodgy too. Is that where we stay when we are in NY?

hey i'm easy, the only thing i want to do for sure is spend one of my days hiring a car with a driver (like a limo but not actually a limo)to take me on my own tour of t.v show locations. i don't expect anyone else would be interested in what i want to see as it's pretty nerdy! otherwise i would love to see as much of l.a, hollywood etc as possible. how about you is there anything specific you want to do in l.a? have you been before?

and yes it is the marakech that we stay in n.y with contiki. are you the walking/hiking type? i'm not usually but i think the hike up to the hollywood sign area would be pretty cool. are you much of a drinker. i would like to go out at night but not on my own, i will drink but not get wasted, as a hangover is not something i want to lose a day to.(or 2 knowing me!)

Yeah I would like to see the hollywood sign up close too! I think you do that on contiki? I am not the hiking type either but will do it for something I want to do. I love to drink! Am happy to go out with you! I will probably not get wasted either as I can't handle hangovers in my old age (lol)! I don't have any real desires to do things in LA, have been once before but was only 10, I am looking up things and making sure I do something different to what we do on contiki! I can't wait to go to Disneyland, I am such a big kid!
