Is anyone going on the Wild Western tour at the end of April??

I'm on this tour also, all booked and paid for so I will definately be seeing you there. 

Will be arriving at the Holiday Inn Anaheim on 24th and probably go to Disneyland the day before the tour, I will also be there for 3 nights after.  I'm joining onto the Canada and Rockies tour after this.

What are you plans pre and post tour?

I'll be on this tour as well and can't wait.  I'll be flying in around early April and staying with a friend for a couple of weeks pre tour.
It would be an understatement to say that I'm looking forward to the trip!!!!  After the tour I'll be doing my own thing and will take in New York before flying to Europe.

I'll be arriving on the 24th too but I'm only staying one extra day at the end. Which is still alright with me.

Good to hear there's at least 3 of us on board the bus. Great to see there's others who like to plan ahead like myself !  I'm going solo, I love travelling on my own.  This will be my 4th Contiki. There's so many things to do in LA and Anaheim, I'm going to try and squeeze in as much as possible before and after the trip.  I still have to organise the transfers from the airport and renew my passport and little things like that but otherwise everything is all done.  I just have to wait now !

I am also travelling alone and it's great to know that I'll be joining you!  I agree that travelling alone opens up so many more options whilst away.  I did an Australian contiki not long ago just to see what they are all about.  Must say I had the time of my life and met the most amazing people from all over the world.  It was actually really sad to finish the tour and that had nothing to do with returning to work!  I'm getting emails daily from Asia, USA, Europe etc asking when I will visit them!  haha It was awesome.

I'll be in Anaheim a few days before the trip starts and after the tour, I'll be doing my own thing.  As for airport transfers I was talking to a few LA girls from my trip and they gave me the right advice about getting from airport to the hotel.  Do you have email addresses?  I't would be cool to stay in touch until our trip.

So you both have done these before?? I'm new to the contiki tour thing. I've only been overseas once before but that was a school thing. How old are you guys? I'm 20 so that means no partying for me!!! It doesn't bother me though because this way i can take in more sites and stuff without the temptation of going clubbing.

I'll be on the same tour as you guys (well I am doing the LA to the Bay, so I'll be on the same bus as you guys from LA to going onto San Francisco).  Can you believe we will be going OS this year!!!!!

I am also new to the Contiki tour thing!  Infact, I've only ever been to NZ (and that doesn't really count as stayed mainly with family).

I am 28 (turning 29 while OS), so am getting too old to party all the time and am looking forward to seeing the sights, so will be more then happy to hang out with you Kelly!  Besides, you can pick up some duty free here before you leave!!!!

I'll be flying out on the 19th April and am planning on spending 4 nights in LA itself (Beverley Hills), and then 4 nights in Anaheim.  Let me know if your interested in meeting up & seeing the sights (I should mention, I am a theme park junky and have to do Universal and Disneyland - infact, first thing I booked was my 4 day hopper pass).

Jane, Iooking forward to meeting up on the 25th for Disneyland (just got your reply from the other messageboard and have sent you a reply direct).

You will all have an AWESOME time on this tour. I did the Western Highlights (LA to VEgas ) in July  and had a ball..it was so god dam HOT though...one day when we made on of our stops on the way to the Phoenix we hopped off the bus and it was  degrees outside...DAM HOT - well Im a kiwi so its hot for me...but i had a ball..I do regret not doing the Wild Western though as I made so many great friends who were doing the wild western..I too was sad to leave when I left the tour but I am still in contact with them. In fact one of them is over here in the UK and we see each other every now and then....one of the most amazing places is the Grand CAnyon...is huge...words and pcitures do not to it  no rules...anything goes...kinda sucks if you are under  though...thank god I wasnt so I had a blast...the freemont street light experience is awesome definately go there...San Diego was great too..although the harbour cruise was a bit too long...but still do it as its a good way to start meeting the people on your tour...lets see what else? Scotsdale (Phoenix) was great too...execpt if you want to do the hot air balooning (which I do recommend) then you have to get up atam the next day...but it is so worth it when you are up in that balloon...the helicopter ride was graeat over the GC as well..Im pre warning you though the food at the grand Cayon (the free meal) is GROSS...try not to eat there.. I mean you can but its not that nice.do the sunset and sunrise up at hopi point (at the Grand Canyon).

Jase - are you doing the Big Apple Explorer as well? I did that too after my tour and it was awesom.e a lot packed into a few days...but still great fun

G'day guys and girls

I had to change my flight due to work committments mid year.  I'm now flying into LA on March 31 and fly out May 12.  I'm still doing the 26/4 tour although it will be at the end of my trip instead of the start.
Still really looking forward to it!!!!!!

Just wondering if anyone else will be in LA prior to the trip starting.  I'll be doing my own thing at the start and looking for company before then.

I arrive in LA itself on the 19/04 (have arranged the "tacky" LA tour & plan on spending a day @ Universal Studios), before heading out to Anaheim for the LA to the Bay tour departing on 26/04.

Already have plans to meet up with Jane & do Disney on the 25th, but have 4 day Disney hopper pass and will be in Anaheim from the 22/04 and am hoping to find someone else I can drag around the theme parks for the other 3 days!

Let me know if this fits in with anybody else's plans out there?

Has the April 26 tour definately been confirmed its going ahead?
i've booked my flight to america and i have planned it that i can either do the April 26 or May 10 tour.
i've been told that Contiki won't confirm the tour till 45 days before it starts (March 15).
anyway, I'll be travelling on one of those Wild Western tours.
Travelling alone and can't wait to go!!

Hi Mark,

The tour hasn't been  definately confirmed but I'm guessing that it will go ahead.  There are a fair few of us on it already.  It usually only gets cancelled when there aren't enough people.  You could always put a deposit down and book your airfare when the tour is confirmed?  Its always hard to tell, I've had tours cancelled on me before and its a pain in the neck!!

So anyway hope you decide to join us!  I'm travelling solo also.  Only 8 weeks to go, can't wait :-)
