oh hey cool we were starting to think we were the only ones going! So you are on the trip for longer but where do you go extra then. Do you join the trip from anaheim or somewhere else?

I leave from Anaheim but when you guys get off in Vegas I continue on to Bass Lake, San Francisco, and then back to LA/Anaheim.  It's 13 days instead of 8.

So are you two friends or related?  How old are you?  I'm 23.

Yeah we're friends, we are celebrating our 21st birthdays this year. Well I'm already 21 and have been since november but kate is 21 on the 04 august this year. We did Australia for our 18th birthdays and have been planning this trip ever since. We're in USA for a month in total starting in New York on the 3rd august, then we fly to La to join the tour, then after the tour we stay in las vegas for 4 days before going to san fransisco and then onto chicago. All cities for 5 days each. Its going to be so cool!!!! I hope there are lots of nice people on this trip. Are you gonna go to the welcome meeting the night before. Do you know where it is that we meet?

When are you arriving in LA?  I'll be arriving August 7th.  Hoping to hit Disneyland on the 8th.

Yes I'll be going to the meeting.  I've heard it's in the hotel's bar or restaurant but apparently the front desk will tell us where to go.

Hey how weird is that! We're arriving on the 7th too. We're not staying at the hotel that we're meeting at though because when we booked the trip we weren't sure where that was gonna be! We've still gotta decide what we're gonne do on the 8th because theres so much to try and fit in for a day and a half. We're actually gonna meet up tomorrow and after a slight detour of donating blood (as a student Nurse i feel i have to even  though i hate needles) we're gonna go through every website possible to try and plan what we're gonna do for the whole 30 days. I think we're possibly taking on a slightly mammoth task but hey! Are you in the USA at all before that or flying in from Canada?

I live 3hrs 25mins away from the Canada/USA border so I'll be in the states August 6th because I'm flying out from Buffalo.  Saved roughly $250+ doing that instead of flying from Toronto.

ok cool we're staying at the liberty hotel in hollywood, any information would be greatly appreciated. We're probably going to do one of the city tours so that we can see as much of LA as possible? Any suggestions on which tours?

I haven't done much research on LA.... my tour includes LA stuff at the end.

Found someone on the LA to the Bay tour and one person on the Wild Western with me.

Cool, Kate and I booked up for the LA Grand sighteeing tour and movie star homes which takes up most of the day and then that night we are meeting up with contiki aren't we. I'm sure i read somewhere that there is a kind of getting to know everyone the night before the tour starts. Dont suppose you know any details?

From what I've read on the boards the meeting is at 7PM in the hotel's restaurant or bar.  We should be informed of this at check-in time.

ok cool, yeah we're not staying in the hotel the night before though so we'll just aim to be there for 7 then. I cant wait!!!! Only got 16 days til we leave the UK. So only 16 days left in this semester of uni

Don't quote me on that 7PM meeting.  Maybe you should call ahead to the hotel or something....

oh yeah we will ring and confirm as soon as we get to LA. Im having a day of considering what I'm gonna pack in my suitcase but I haven't gotten very far lol I can't decide what to pack for a week let alone a month lol. Have you met anyone else on our trip apart from the Lillian? I'm very surprised that no-one else has logged on? Maybe in the next week or so?
