hey! so glad to hear some one is going on this one! yes, so i hear... if the numbers are low, the tour is cancelled.. but ive already booked and payed for flights arranged accom etc. im going to ask my travel agent for more info but so ill keep you posted. Hey Owen! I'm going by myself as well...so it should be different from the last time I did Contiki which was in a group. But I reckon it will be fine! Mine was a last minute decision and I've decided to spend a few nights before the tour in New York at the Marakesh motel and a few nights after the tour in New Orleans. Nice to hear more Aussie's are going
My mate Emma and I are coming along as well. We're both brissy chicks too (but I'm living in Hong Kong at the moment) I can't wait!!! How cold do you all think it'll be in new york when we get there? Is anyone staying in the states longer when the tour ends? bex

As for New York, I'm pretty sure it will be quite cold...doesn't it snow there in winter??

Nah shouldnt be too cold, I know a few people from the US and they said it would be warmer than the temp in london now, which is about avg 18 degrees, but you never know hey. Im staying at my friends place in new york but ill prob be in new york from the 25th cause im meeting one of my best mates who is travelling around the world for a month (also from bris) but if anyone is keen we could always meet up before the tour starts and see some of ny sights. let me know if anyones keen. Oh my god.... how did you manage to get a working/holiday visa? I thought it was practically impossible. Is it because you already have a job lined up?
Owen, Emma's going over on the 27th so I'm sure she'd be happy to see some of the sights with you. I'd love to come over earlier but not sure if i can get out of work by then. We're planning on doing a short road trip when we finish from new orleans to austin, then flying to vegas from there if anyone wants to come along. I think we'll be in vegas for about 6 days then heading to la la land for a week. woohoo!!! i can't wait :-)
Bex, it is pretty impossible to get a Work/Holiday Visa unless ur a student or graduate within 12 months. I graduated about 11 months ago and got the VIsa through CCUSA who sponsor you. Bex, ur road trip to Austin sounds awesome? How are you doing that? Are you hiring a car?
I'm pretty keen to see some of the sights of New York as Ill be there from the 28th onwards...so it would be cool to meet up with a few of you guys...maybe we could exchange contact details or something?

Jodie, we're hiring a car through southwest airlines I think. It seems to be the cheapest way so far. We plan on staying in New Orleans for 1 more night after the tour then start driving to Austin on the 12th. Apparently it only takes about 8hrs but we're allowing time to stop for those silly road trip pics that need to be done!
