Hey Jess, I'm going to be booking this tour today. If you want to find other people on the trip, go to Grand Southern and find their trip that starts Sept 24... we join them half way through their trip.
I'm staying in NYC for 9 nights after the trip.

I booked my one on Thursday..well my Best Friend and mine, and today she cancelled Mad
BUT... who cares.
I can't wait to go on this trip.
Where is everyone from?
I planned to spend 4 days in NY, because I want to relax and chill out in Las Vegas before I head home... =)

Q. Where is everyone staying in NY? And are you doing your own thing or that NY tour?

Hello everyone!

I'm from Sydney, Australia. I've been on a Contiki Tour in Europe before, about 3 years ago with a friend, but will be travelling alone this time.

So glad to see some other people going on this trip! I'm spending 4 days in LA before doing this tour and then 7 days in New York after the tour.

Yay more people!!
I am staying in the East Village in NYC. I stayed in Mid town 3 years ago but it's rediculously expensive. I'll be there 9 nights after the tour. I think there will be plenty of people staying afterwards so we can all meet up at a central location and explore the Big Apple!

Hey!

Contiki tours are really good, it's a really good to see alot really cheaply. I wasn't convinced they were a good idea before I first went, but am a convert now. They move pretty fast, and your tired by the end but all in all a good experience.

Yeah I was a bit worried no one would be on this tour, but it looks like lots of people are going.

Jess

p.s good to make some friends before the tour!

You can stay at the Marrakech Hotel in NYC after the tour for up to 4 nights. The night we get there isn't included (last night on tour is the final night in Washington DC). It's $120 twin share. From the looks of it, it's pretty far uptown - almost at the end of Central Park.

I was looking at hostels but have booked a B&B type place (in the East Village) for about $180 a night. I'm glad I found it when I did as it's basically booked out now.

I have at least a week free before this trip starts, and I'm not sure what to do. I'm actually thinking about changing to the Grand Southern - just gotta get a few extra days of leave from work approved first.
If not, I'll either go to San Francsico, or Boston/Cape Cod.

Even though this tour isn't a guaranteed one, it looks like it's filling up really quickly! Yay!

I've stayed on the upper west side before, which is close to where the marrakesh hotel, at 110th st, and it's really not a big deal, the subway is fast in NY you get to where you need to go in no time.
