my friends and i are doing this contiki. would like to here from anyone doing the same. this is my first time overseas and im both excited and nervous!

my name is actually spelt melissa but that was already taken! not that its important! yes we r booked and paid ready to go! we r all from sydney (australia). we are exploring the north island by ourselves for 3 days before the tour then going back to queenstown for 3 days after it finishes! have you ever been to australia? how old are you?

I'm going to spend a month doing an English course in Auckland before joining the tour. Maybe we can get together there and travel all the way down to Wellington to meet the rest of the group. I'm 31 and I've never been to Sydney or anywhere in Australia. I hope to go there one day... How old are you and your friends? Take care!!

Hey guys, sounds like you're going to have an amazing time! I would suggest checking out Rotorua and Lake Taupo on your way from Auckland to Wellington-they were two of my fav places on the north island!!
I did the scenic southern in may 2004 starting in christchurch and had a blast!
For Fernando Jr-if you have the time, the coromandel area is sooooo amazing!! I went camping in that area in January and the scenery (especially the beaches) is breathe-taking!!

Just some ideas I thought I'd pass on!! Have fun!

hi kate thanks for the suggestions! we r actually staying in Rotorua for 3 nights n will prob visit lake taupo while there. what should we expect? any tips on wat we should/nt do? is the accomodation nice? n wat about the overnight cruise? do u have a lot of free time? so many questions i kno but i just like to be prepared! things might have changed since u did the tour but any hints would be muchly appreciated.
