Hey Gas Chick, I went on this tour around the same time back in 2003, I travelled Solo and there wasnt an issue, I made friends very quickly as there will be others in the same situation and usually there is someone on the trip who has 'been there done that' who will take you under their wing.

Have an awsome time, you are going to love it...make sure you bunji or swing, you wont regret it.
