Depends on where you are. You will see a lot of places where you can pay to use computers for very cheap to get online. But you will have to find a nice cafe that offers free internet or your hotel. Free wifi is not as popular there as it is in the states.
Anyone know hoe many of the hotels used on European Discovery have wifi is you have your own laptop. i am required to login from time to time for work.

When I went in '08, all 5 hotels I stayed in had wifi in the rooms and all worked pretty well. The hotels ranged from 5 star to 2 star. More and more hotels are offering wifi in Europe.
on my tour nearly every hotel had wifi but only less than half were free. so you just have to be willing to pay and you'll be fine. even in mcdonalds all through europe you have to sign up and pay to use wifi!
