Hi everyone-
wondering what you, especially ladies, have worn in europe during the day in july? i want to try to wear as "normal" clothes as possible, ie; wear what i would wear at home on a daily basis. I usually wear a casual dress and comfortable flats on a summer day and i was wondering if this is a fine idea, being as though we sit on a bus for much time?
Thanks all!

Hey... just wanted to add to this post... I am also curious about what to wear during the day. I have read in some tour books that European women tend to not wear shorts or shorter skirts, but this info was coming from an older person so I am not sure what younger European women wear. Just curious if it is appropriate to wear these things (along with dresses) during the day.

Thanks! Cool

Just wear what you'll normally wear at home - don't worry about trying to fit in with the locals too much - you won't look out of place as you won't be the only tourist in these places - better to be comfortable than awkward - every country has different fashions (name a famous German fashion designer as opposed the dozen or so you probably can list off from Italy and France) so trying to fit into the fashion of every country you visit is going a bit far - wear what suits you and what's comfortable.

Shorts and shorts skirts, etc are fine, and yes (don't ask me how I know this - all I'll say is 'keen observation' haha), some of the European gals wear this type of stuff too.

hey!! i find that the times i've been overseas the sun dress was my best friend - seriously easy to wear and comfortable.
When it comes to short shorts and skirts a good rule that i go by is if your showing a lot of leg, show less shoulder and arm, and vice-versa.
Shoes: takes what's comfy, you definitely don't want to be breaking in brand new shoes while over there (i bought runners in lisbon and wore them right away, worst experience ever.

Hope this helps!!
