Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing well. I'm doing the London and Paris + 2 Days Paris tour from December 26 - January 24, and I was hoping to get some insights.

Have any of you been on this tour? If so, how was it?

Do you think it's better/more convenient to have a suitcase or a back pack?

I'm Canadian, and wondering if there are any Canadian's that might be going on this tour as well.

Thanks so much!!
Didi

^ i'm interested to hear some feedback about this trip here. I'm booked for March 6!

Did you get a free day in London? Was the sight-seeting tour of london & bath/stonehenge a whole day on it's own or done on separate days? How long did you get to spend at Versailles?

An extremely well written review of a very similar tour can be found here.

Hello All,

I recently did the London and Paris Tour plus Rome. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to people wanting to get a taste of the cities.

The hotel in London was by far the best, we stayed at the Imperial. In Paris the hotel was far from everything and the walk to the Metro will take at least 20 min once you get to know your way, we stayed at the Ibis in Bercy.

Didi, I would take a backpack if I had to do it over. I took a suitcase and traveling with a backpack would have been easier just spacewise. Likeaflower you do get a free day in London, but be prepared to run from one place to the next as that night was also the theater show. Bath and Stonehenge are the same day, but there is plenty of time for both. Versailles seemed a little rushed, but was okay.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Since the Rome part of the London/Paris/Rome tour is unescorted, is it really hard to find your way around Rome? I'm trying to decide between that or the Winter Discovery tour next year; in a way I'd prefer London Paris Rome b/c it's cheaper and those are the cities I'm most interested in, but I'm just nervous about the prospect of being in Rome by myself for two days. If anyone has done either or both and can give me any suggestions, that would be appreciated! Smiler I'm hoping to go in October next year.

The Rome part of the tour is not bad. Most likely you will have people from the London and Paris part that will continue on to Rome with you.

It is very easy to walk in Rome, as the Metro does not have that many stops and the bus system is confusing. Just get a good map or use the one provided by Contiki and you will be fine. Just be prepared to walk a lot.
