I want to a concept/budget tour in May 2010. I want to a European Highlights tour. I have a couple questions

1. I know the Australian prices and date came out, but is are prices lower or higher than 09 prices

2. Are the accommodations in concept/budget tours any good or plain bad...and are they secure?

3. Im going to be 23 years old, is that kinda old to be doing concept/budget tour. I heard those trips are made for a younger crowd.

Hey, I just did the European Highlights tour in September and had the time of my life. Hope I can help with these answers:

1. Not sure what the prices are but my tour cost $1835 + $285 food fund so $2120 all up.

2. For the first part of the tour (until Germany) you stay at camp sites in Cabins, all the cabins were clean and reasonably secure I didn't have a problem with any of them, they were either 2 or 4 share with a shared bathroom between the cabin. (The French chateau is the exception here - dorm style rooms with unisex shared bathrooms - but hey its just one night)
From Germany you stay at hostels or hotels, which are all clean and have towels & bed linen (fantastic after campsites where u had sleeping bags and your own towel).
I wouldn't look too much into the accommodation on this tour as you are in most places for just one night so 9 times out of 10 you have one shower there and sleep there for a few hours, then re-pack your clothes!

3. No 23 is not too old, I was one of the oldest on my tour (27) but the average age was between 21-23 I would guess, there were a few younger but as long as you have an open mind you'll e fine.

Hope I've been some help, if you have anymore questions email me - kritta09@hotmail.com

as mentioned there are a lot of stays in cabins. They're not that secure, I had to break into our room a couple times as there is often only one key between 4 people, but in saying that I never worried about my stuff going missing, and nobody had any problems on my tour.

They are not exactly comfortable, but not the worse places to stay. You have a bed and shower and toilet which is all you need really, anyhting else on top is an added bonus.

If you are fussy about where you stay then budget/concept might not be for you.

considering Contiki is open for 18-35 yo's not sure why you think 23 would be too old, that is the average age that you are likely to find
