I am so excited becasue my best freind and I just booked our trip with contiki for Sept 22, 2007. I just have a few questions and any help would be greatly appreciated. First I wanted to know if I need a hotel for the one night I will be in London or if something is included. The tour book says that the first two days of travel are ariving now i have an overnight flight and will be getting to London the day before we meet up with everone else. So that means I will need a hotel for the night correct? Also I was jsut wondering if anyone out there has already done this trip and has tips for me. This is my first time traveling to Europe. Also if you are going on the same trip I'd love to chat with you just reply to this message.
Stay at the Royal National Hotel. It's only 2 stars, but is very close to the Contiki meet up point. All travel agents will hook you up there for the night. I'm on my second contiki and both travel agents I went to for both times put me at the Royal for the 2 or 3 extra night in London I'm there for before the contiki. Also, I think it is actually owned by Contiki, or Contiki have stakes in it or something. It's pretty much a hotel for young people and it's a rocking place to be. Contiki will suggest staying there if you contact them. I know it's only 2 stars, but its great. It's not bad at all (or when compared to some of the places you'll actually be staying at on the contiki hehe) and very cosy. Also, there is always something going on. Most people there are going on or coming back from Contiki's. Hope that helps.
