My friend and I are going on this tour. We'll be 19. We're getting to London a day early so we can chill before the tour actually starts.

Have you done any day trips out to stonehenge at all? If you have, do you know of a reputable company? I've been trying to get in contact with a few to do stonehenge/king arthurs avalon before my tour and no one is replying at all and im getting rather discouraged.

Hey!! I'm going on this trip as well with a few friends (all 21 and 22)! We're going to be at the Royal National hotel a couple days early (we're going to get there for the 5th) so we have a couple of days to hang out in London and get accustomed to the time difference before the tour starts! We're also staying an extra day in Paris I believe.

Jeremy we're also thinking of going the day tour to Stonehenge and King Arthur's Avalon! The travel agent that I booked with said that there is this company around the corner from the Royal National the books day trips like that, but I havent' looked into it.

Well i'll definitely be in London on the 6th and staying extra in Paris too. It'd be awesome to have people from the tour on the day trip out to Stonehenge. Im thinking of going on the 8th if at all possible, im still waiting to hear back from companies i've found online. I wouldn't want to book it when im there just for the fact that it might be fully reserved although it would be a lot easier in getting a response. I know I would be able to see Stonehenge no problem, there are a ton of those tours, but the King Arthurs Avalon one isnt as common. I cant wait!

I should also note that I booked a tour of Vatican city for the day we're in Rome. I guess they recently delayed opening time til 10:30am and the private tours get access at 8:30. It costs more, but extra time in Rome and getting into the Vatican w/o a line is most certainly worth it

Isn't the 8th the day the tour meets up?
And how much was that optional private tour in Rome?? I heard that the guided Imperial Tour doesn't include the Colosseum??? Or maybe it was just the price wasn't included haha

The 8th is the normal "arrive in London" day. The only thing that goes on is a meeting at 7pm, so the tour would be back by then. I believe the tour leaves for Amsterdam on the 9th.

The price I booked for was $60, but it appears they have since raised it to $73. I wonder if my price will go up or not. I booked through Select Italy, however the Vatican does not confirm until 30 days before so one more month until I am confirmed on it.

ohh alright, I'll most likely just do the tour with the group then haha.
I haven't looked into any of the Avalon/Stonehenge tours yet, I guess I was just going to go see what was around when I got to London. haha

Im pretty sure the Imperial Tour doesn't actually do anything with the Vatican like go inside the Vatican Museums and the like. I just want to get in early and not wait in line Smiler

I think almost all the tours that I have found that go to Avalon/Stonehenge have run out of business or only go on Fridays. I booked a tour with Evan Evans on May 8th to go to Stonehenge, Windsor, and Salisbury (its the 750th anniversary this year) instead. http://www.evanevanstours.co.uk/windsor-salisbury-stonehenge.htm

Guess it gets back kind of late so I may be late to the meeting that night, oops Smiler

Thanks for the heads up on the Vatican tours, sounds like it will be a good idea.
It looks like the heineken brewery will be closed for reno's when we are in Amsterdam, which is too bad as it sounds like it is a lot of funFrowner
49 more days and counting....
