Hi, i've just booked onto the Canada and the Rockies tour starting on 23rd May 2009. I haven't booked flights yet but planning to get to Vancouver 2 days early and then have 5 days after before joining the Alaskan Adventure tour.

Be good to here from anyone on the tour.

Rachael

I'm looking at doing this tour the same as you - canada and rockies then alaska adventure after it. Would be awesome! Also going to head back to the US! Smiler

Hi Melanie

Good to hear from someone else interested in the tour. There is another lot of dates later in the year which links to the two tours but as there isn't much difference in temperature between June and August and that they get an average of 15 days of rain in Alaska during Aug (compared to 6 in June) i thought the earlier the better.

Hope you decide to book the tours.

Rachael

Hi Conitki Intern

What is the weather likely to be like in late May? As i'm heading on to to the Alaska tour after, do i need to be packing for warmish temps or will it still be quote cold?

Hey Rachel

As a Rockies Resident the weather is unpredicatable. I wouldn't even worry about packing until you're almost ready to leave. We have temps anywhere from -10 to +30 (celcius)...but regardless...you will have an amazing time!!

Well that's at least 3 of us so far.

Melanie, when are you getting to Vancouver? Maybe we can meet up with Angie to do some sightseing?

I arrive at 6.30pm on the 21st so have the whole day before the tour free. I'm planning to hop on a bus to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension bridge.

Great. Maybe a group of us can meet up. Do you know where you are staying yet? I'm planning to book into the Sandman Hotel for 2 nights before the tour.

So where is everyone from and have you been on Contiki tours before?

I'm from the UK on the south coast and this will be my 4th Contiki.

Melanie - did you decide to book the Alaska tour too?
