I am also doing this trip by myself, i think when your on a contiki tour its really the only way to travel.. i have done 2 previously.. NZ and Europe.

I am starting this tour from Vancouver too. so at least the night before the tour starts we will be able to meet up, chat and have a few drinks.

It should be really good, I have a few friends who have travelled in Canada before and they said we will have a ball.

Cant wait - can you believe its just over 2 months away!!!

Hi All,

Well its been a while since I have had the chance to get on here and check out the updates.

Nicky - am starting in Vancouver, so if your starting there - we can catch up the night before.

Neil - will be seeing you on the bus so unfortunately wont be able to catch up before departure but the first nite of the tour should be a big nite of drinking and getting to know everyone.
This is my 3rd Contiki tour and will be doing another one in the US.. pretty much straight after this one...

Anyone up for doing a Zipline tour in Whistler? I found this company that does tours 10 minutes outside of town and it looks amazing. Check it out www.ziptrek.com. I'm going to reserve a spot before our tour starts so I get the time I want.

Hey there a message for Stacey, just got back to NZ after doing the Rockies tour, absolutely brilliant- Zipline was an optional extra anyway. Worth it totally. All up my optional extras were about $1000 CAD so allow for that also. Also a tip for tipping- give the bartender $5 tip on the first drink and you will be served before anybody else for the rest of the night! Enjoy the tour, I certainly did.- Rory

Rory, Thanks! The Zipline tour isn't mentioned as an option on my itinery, though I have a spot reserved already. I can't wait to do it! As for tipping, I'm from the states and we tip EVERYONE so I agree, if you tip on the first drink you'll get better service the rest of the night. Also, sometimes it also works if you start a tab - they'll take care of you if you appear to be spending a lot that night. Cant wait for tour!
