Hi there,
looks like this is going to be an awesome tour with so many people already on it. Are there still vacancies so far? Guess it`s hard to tell when this tour will be booked out......because I`m still choosing between this tour (or the one in July) and Russia/Baltics (new places to me). Actually I have been to all places that the "Canada and the Rockies" tour covers (except the orchard place). Is it worth to go on this tour specially for the Stampede? Thanks! |

Hey Lauren,
nice to meet you and have you on board... looking forward to meeting everyone in a few months time now... hope you'll enjoy this tour... Tavela, I think this will be an awesome tour... I think it's great having this many people interested in coming to see Canada... one piece of advice... every tour is different... even if you've been to these places before... even within Contiki itself... I've done 8 Contiki tours so far, and I've had a blast on all of them. Calgary Stampede is one of those things you should do if you're visiting Canada, at least once... If you like rodeos and horses and experiencing the cowboy atmosphere... Calgary's also a great city... very vibrant and very alive. I'm sure we'd love to have you on board this tour, but ultimately it's your decision. I don't know how full the tour is... there is a maximum of 50 spots on this tour, that I do know... Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the quick answer. It`s really a hard decision now! Great mix of people. And so far not a tour with 90% women or full of teenagers! Just send a request to Contiki, so I see what happens.
Last time I went to the Rockies I hired a car from Vancouver and drove as far as Calgary and Edmonton myself, was great but I`m sure I have missed some things along the way.....and Lake Louise was still frozen! Heike |

No worries, Heike,
Where are you from? Hope you can get a spot on board our tour... when you do, come jump on Facebook and have a look at some of the neat stuff we've got planned for this tour. I guarantee Lake Louise will not be frozen this time of year Chris |

Thanks for the welcome Chris.
Anyone know what the temperature will be like in Canada while we're there? In degrees celcius, pretty please.. hehe. I'll be leaving an Aussie winter so I'll be confused. |

Hi Chris and everyone!
Contiki confirmed that the June 27th tour is still available.Need to pay deposit shortly.I`ll go for it! There`s only one problem: I`m working up to June 25th which means I can only fly out from Germany on the 26th and it`s too early for me to book a flight yet because I need to decide where to travel after the tour. Heike |

Lauren,
You could be looking at 25-30 degrees C around that time... but pack a sweater cause we'll be in the mountains as well... just a suggestion... if you're planning on doing the whitewater rafting optional which is really cool... pack a swimsuit too :-) Heike, Great... you can always just put down a deposit, you don't have to book flights right away... if you fly out from Germany on the 26th, you should be fine, it'll be a long flight though... just make sure your flight arrives by the night of the 26th... we leave the morning of the 27th for Whistler. how long are you planning on staying after the tour? and where are u planning to head off to? Chris |

Hi guys.
Notice alot of people looking and writing on this particular date. Just wondering if anyone has written on this date by accident and actually going on the 20th of June instead. I hope i am not the only one on my tour. LOL Michelle |

Hi Chris,
there is actually a direct flights on that particular day.Wish I could book it now but still not sure how long I ll stay in Canada /the US after this tour . Have been to most places but I haven`t done the middle of Canada like Manitoba or the US Pacific coast North of San Fransisco.Or I might visit friends in the East. So many options!I got up to 3 weeks after the tour or maybe I fly home early and do something in Europe.Heike |

Hi Heike,
That's good you can get a direct flight. There's just one suggestion I'd like to make, the middle of Canada doesn't have much in the way of sightseeing... but if you like outdoorsy type things like camping, hiking, fishing, then there are lots of great places to explore in Manitoba, however there are also a lot of mosquitoes in the summer... which can be quite annoying... so I would recommend more the pacific northwest... oregon and washington state are wonderful areas to explore, even all the way down to San Francisco and further... as for staying, 3-7 days in Vancouver is usually pretty good to cover most things, then you can get over to the island and check out some great spots, or even fly out to Calgary which is closeby. Where are your friends living in the East? |

Hi Chris,
I know the area around Vancouver is beautiful, I`ve already been to Vancouver Island. Would like to vistit Toronto again. I have friends in Chicago and Quebec (Montreal). Actually I`ll be in Chicago for a few days at the end of March, so the East of Canada would be a great place to go to in July. Haven`t seen my French Canadian friend in Montreal for 12 years, she got 2 children by now and a partner I`ve never met. My Contiki tour is confirmed, they just sent it to the wrong STA-travel (not in my city) so I had to phone and still waiting for details about the deposit.Hope it works. Heike |

Hey Heike,
Vancouver is gorgeous especially at the time of year this trip is going on. You've been to the Island. Have you been to Victoria? There's a place called Butchart Gardens... very colorful place. Montreal is a nice place to get to... It's one of the cities I would recommend going to when you're out east for sure. I think you should go, you could easily spend a week in eastern Canada... I'd say a few days in Toronto and 4-5 days in Montreal... especially if you have friends there. Usually once you have paid the Contiki deposit, your spot on the tour is guaranteed. I'm sure it will all work out. You might want to play it by ear too, you might want to hang out in Vancouver for a few days afterwards... at least for an extra night anyway... When is the last time you have been out here? Lots of changes are going on because of the 2010 Winter Olympics preparations... Are you on Facebook? Chris |

Hi Chris,
deposit paid, so I`m on the tour. Will make up my mind about the flights in April. Have to join you guys on Facebook now, I`m on Facebook, too. Yes, Vancouver Island is nice.I`ve been to Victoria and Butchart Gardens and really enjoyed it. Have been to Vancouver in 2003 and 2006. My first nights in Vancouver were a bit scary as I stayed in a hotel in East Hastings Street(!) ...but soon discovered the nicer places of the city and stayed somewhere else the second time. Heike |

Hi Heike, So glad you could join us... welcome aboard Contiki Canada & The Rockies with a special stop for Stampede in Calgary... Only less than 4 months to go... East Hastings St, eh? no wonder... too bad you didn't know about that first time around... oh well... but glad that didn't scare you off to coming back again. All you guys will get to see firsthand some of the new Olympic venues up in Whistler for 2010... you guys have picked a great time to come... Is this your first Contiki tour? Or have you been on other ones? Come join us on Facebook and meet some of your fellow travellers... the actual link is on one of the previous posts in case you're wondering. Chris |
