Hey Lauren,

I noticed you did Beaches and Reefs... did you do that tour with Contiki or Connections? I did that tour with Contiki and it was an awesome time.

Hi

Yes did the B&R with contiki and had such a great time that's why i'm planning on doing another one. I'm just a bit torn between doing this one and the Wild Western but I do really want to see Canada so I probably will end up booking this trip. Sounds like it will be awesome!!

I can't see why you can't do both... I'd suggest doing the Canada one this year and if you want, maybe try the California one on a future date... but that's just me (I've done 7 trips with Contiki and counting)...

Canada's got a lot better scenery anyway... Smiler Plus it looks like we've got a pretty good mix of people planning or booked on this tour so far.

There are also a few things on this tour that's not part of other Canada & Rockies tours... You get to spend Canada Day in Jasper... I spent Australia Day Down Under with the Beaches and Reefs and we had an awesome time!!! I'm hoping Canada Day will spark the same kind of party mood... and of course Calgary Stampede is a must for anybody coming to Western Canada...

not to mention you guys will get to see two Olympic sites on tour... Calgary which hosted the Games in 1988 and Vancouver who's hosting the Games in 2010.

This has probably been asked elsewhere in the forums but was just wondering if a suitcase or a backpack is better for this tour.

Hey Oli,

You don't do a lot of walking around with your gear... so either will be fine... if you're planning on doing other travels before and after a backpack might be better... most people tend to bring a suitcase (it works better for souvenirs - on some tours people just shipped stuff home instead of carrying them around), and but for the tour itself... either one works... you can have a smaller day pack with you on the bus (to put your camera and iPod, and whatever... because you can't access the bottom of the bus on rest stops)... hope this helps Smiler
