I'm gonna be arriving on the 30th so maybe we can meet up.

I'm from Cardiff but making the big move to Windsor in September!! Moving for work- last year qualified as a primary school teacher but not much work around south wales- oh and my welsh is not good!!

Anyone know what optional excursions they are gonna do? I think on my last tour they ask you to fill in a form at the beginning saying what ones you want to do. My friend did the tour and she said with the chair lift up Whistler mountain don't get a ticket through the tour as they are the same price as you normally get and if its really foggy when you get there, there's no point going up. I'll try and get more useful info out of her!!

Hi, yeah on facebook, my surname is Newton.

Horse trekking sounds good but haven't ridden a horse since...more than 10 years ago!! Maybe it's like riding a bike!!

Woohoo, someone else on the trip! Welcome aboard Kathryn Smiler, I'm on the Grand Canadian too which meets up with your tour.

The horse riding does look good...I've never ridden a horse and I haven't ridden a bike for about 15 years, so this could be rather amusing haha...

Oh join the club Kathryn, I'm shocking with overpacking too!Although I'm taking a backpack this time, so I'm hoping that will control my packing somewhat....or I'll find a nice strapping young guy on tour to carry it for me haha Wink (Was that Corey volunteering to carry my bag?!?!)

Day time I'm largely taking shorts, singlets, a few cardies and desparately hoping it'll be warm enough. (Should I be checking out weather reports about now??) Night time is where I'm struggling ...probably a couple of dresses and sparkly tops..we'll see how my bag's looking after I've gotten through the day stuff! I'm trying to tell myself that I can always buy stuff over there if I need it (and yet somehow, I'll still end up packing numerous party dresses and tops that won't get worn...). In the end though, I figure I'll look like such a hungover, tired hobo that it won't really matter what I'm wearing - nothing will help! Smiler

Hi all Smiler Hope everyone is ok and getting excited. Not long! wooooo!

I spoke to the friends I am spending my first 10 days with in Canada and they said that in B.C. in August somedays in can be really hot and other days in can be pretty chilly! I was told to make sure I had a few sweaters in case it is cold. To be honest it sounds like the climate is pretty much the same as here, Kathryn.

On another note, what are people doing once the tour finishes?! (not that I'm wanting to wish away the time, or anything!) Corey, are you still thinking about doing Vancouver Island? I'm still really up for that. Do you have any accommodation sorted for once the trip is over?! Should we be booking stuff?! What do people think? According to the guys in STA Vancouver Island is absolutely worth a few days visit... let's continue the tour ourselves!

Hi alltogether!

I am really looking forward to this trip - after it, i'll stay in Vancouver up to 15th of August, no clear plans for this time, perhaps Vancouver Island? We will see...
By the way, I arrive in Vancouver on July 30th, after a hopfully long anti-jetlag sleep I'll have one "preparation day" in Vancouver before the tour starts. Do you know, where we will meet in Vancouver with the others from "Grand Canadian" (including "Deb & Corey") and the guide?

Regards from Germany

Florian

I apologise in advance but putting together compilation of cheesy tunes which i'm gonna make bus play.
