haha, did you see the Stampede page listing all the crazy food they have there, beef sundaes, deep fried coca cola, sound like heart attack city.
I think that is a fantastic plan regarding the beer, maybe we need to learn the Molson Beer Anthem, along the lines of I am Canadian...Smiler Are you travelling by yourself in Canada?
I love these forums..can see myself getting addicted like facebook lol

Yep, i'm doing Canada by myself. Plus my time in Seattle will be just me as well. I did see one facebook page about food at stampede but not one with deep fried coca cola. I'm keen to try that. When more people come here we should make a facebook group for this tour. I have a story to do with the Molson ads from when I was in Canada but i'll tell you the first night at the Sandman while we are drinking a Canadian.

Sounds great, here are some more foods from Calgary

Deep Fried Oreo
Deep Fried Twinkie
Pizza-On-a-Stick - yes, it is possible!
Bacon-on-a-Bun
Bubble Tea
Indian Taco - sort of a flatbread pizza-looking taco
Calzones
London Broil - kind of like a steak sandwich only different
Gyros
Roasted Corn on the cob
Beignets - like a donut with no hole, covered in icing sugar
Deep Fried Coke
Taco-In-a-Bag
Crepes
Hot Beef Sundae - mashed potatos, meat in gravy sauce, shredded cheese and a cherry tomato on top
Cinnamon Buns
Frozen Chocolate Bananas
Fried Dough
Hot Chocolate Chip Cookies

Would all wash down nicely with Canadian Brew...maybe Smiler

Yep, Yep Jo, Kazz, you, me & Braden, though hopefully there will also be a driver, cos I sure can't drive one. I am sooo excited I have those butterflies that everyone talks about.
Just started a forum for the Western Highlights trip as well, funny isn't it how your friends are never quite as excited as you are about your trip..that's why i think the forums are so awesome.

Ture about friends not beging as excited. I have to warn my friend at work when I want to talk contiki so the fourms are my outlet. Good thing is my mate is doing the Southern so I have someone here to talk to.

Hey how much Canadian money do you think we should take? not including optionals.I might try for $100 Canadian per day, hope thats enough. Good thing is Calgary is near the end, hate to think how much money i'll spend on deep fried coke and mini dougnuts.

they definitely have some interesting food at the Stampede!
I will let you know, that after a night at Nashville North (the bar on/at the Stampede Grounds) Pizza on a Stick is pretty much the best thing ever Smiler

Hey Pervy, I'm really not sure how much Canadian Dollars to take, I would think $100 would be pretty close, probably spend the most in Calgary..

Pizza on a stick i could go for some of that right now yummm. I'll have to pay excess baggage on the way back for my weight gain from beer and fried foods Smiler

Ok, i'm going to invent a pizza ice block so you can still have the taste of pizza but not the heat when it's super hot. But seriously how do they do pizza on a stick? And whats wrong with a slice. It's easy enough to eat that on the go. I'm going to confront the guy selling them at Stampede and ask him why?

Hey I think the Aussie dollar may be on the increase?? Thinking I will buy some if it hits 70c?
Hard to know what to do, have a bit of debt on credit card so want to get that cleared first, have paid for half the trip so far so worst case scenario I leave Braden home and I still get to go lol, just kidding Smiler
How exciting now under the 6 month mark!!

Wow, 70cents. Wish I was that lucky. Almost got to 60cents on friday but dropped back to 58cents. My trip is all paid for so now it's just spending money. Good thing is the Canadian $ is way better than the US. About 67cents I think so thats good. You can't leave Braden behind. We need all the people we can get.
