Hi Guys,

I'm a 24 year old female from Melbourne looking for others booked on the 13th Jan Winter Wanderer Tour. I'll be travelling around Canada and London prior to the tour. Would be great to get to know people before I went.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Laura Wink

Hey Laura!

My sister and i are booked on this trip! We are leaving Perth on the 22nd Dec but are going separate ways for a few weeks before meeting back up back in London the day before the tour. I am 26 and she is 21.

Should be an awesome trip!

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

Great to hear from someone else on the trip. You're not going to be the fiercly protective older brother are you?

I've got two other friends meeting me on the tour from melb, but i'm really looking forward to meeting new people. Where are you off to prior to the tour?

Hi Laura,

Haha..haven't planned to be!! Tash is pretty good at taking care of herself.

We are going to be spending a few days in Singapore, xmas in London and then we are going skiing in Sweden before i head to Finland, Switzerland (i know we go there on our trip but i have a few friends that will be there there then) and the Czech Republic.

Tash is heading to Scotland from Sweden to meet up with some of her friends.

Canada sounds awesome...how long are you going to be there for?

Brendan

The Czech Republic! Lucky you! I really wanted to go there but not many of the winter tours stopped there Frowner Never mind.

So you're a skiier....hmm can't say i like skiiers, i'm a boarder myself Wink I'm in Canada for 9 days, 6 in Banff where i'll be hitting the slopes (and spending new years) and then 3 in Montreal just checking out the sites.

Sounds like you've got a great trip planned! Not long now till we're both off!

I wouldn't exactly say i'm a skiier...i went skiing and snowboarding for the first time this July in NZ and really enjoyed both. Unfortunately i managed to break my elbow in the process but it hasn't deterred me at all! I will probably spend more time snowboarding than skiing in Sweden though as i am determined to get better at it!!

Are you guys staying at the Royal National before/after the tour?

To be quite honest I haven't worked out my accomodation in London at all. I was hoping to stay with some friends, but I haven't really arranged that yet. I'm guessing at least the night before the tour and probably the night after the tour I will be staying at that hotel but other then that its still all up in the air.

Well thats ok then, there is still time to mould you into a boarder, skiing's crap Wink
Full credit to you for jumping back on after breaking your elbow, I took my friend for the first time last season and she broke her arm and now refuses to come back. I'm positive she'd really like it but she's scared now.

So what do you do for a living?

We haven't got our accomodation sorted out over xmas at this stage so i am going to have to sort that out too but we will be in the Royal the night before and for four nights after the tour.

Hopefully we will be able to meet a few more people before we go! There were a few more people on our trip in another post but they haven't been around since about August.

Hehe. I see that this trip is gonna be damn good. So far i'm getting a good solid friendly vibe.
Ummmm...i'm coming straight from melbourne, staying a night in tokyo on the way, and then 2 nights at the royal national before the trip. The again...if JAL screws up royally...no pun intended...then i guess that extra night could save my ass. So no real pre-tour sight seeing or anything. But I am staying with an old friend in london after the trip for a week.

SnoHO (aka wild thang)...i'm from Ivanhoe, about 20 min NNE of melbourne. I'm about to finish my psych degree, and not really loving it at the moment. And ummm...I work at Crown in the city. Thats about it from me for now...i should get back to studying.

Cheers All. Chat soon.

Ivanhoe! I'm from Kew, we're neighbours!!
Are you not really loving it because its exam time or its probably not the career you want to do?
Well its exam time for me too, had my first one yesterday, but i'm only a pt student so i have still got a few years left. Sounds like you'll be up for some pretty big partying if you're finishing your degree this year.

Good luck with the study!

Laura

No, don't frequent the Harp. I feel a little old for that place, except perhaps for after work drinks every now and then. (i work across the road). Other then that my drinking holes tend to be in the city.

Good luck with the exams!
