Hi,

I think i replied to you via private messaging...unless you are someone else :S
I'm planning on going on this tour (with 4 guy friends) I just didn't know when it was too early to post a comment about it Smiler

All of us are engineers (or still engineering students) from Brisbane, AUS and are intending to spend some time in London before this tour.

Btw is it too early to start a countdown?

Hi Ash,
I know the trip is ages away but the more I hear about it the more excited I get! I really hope this trip goes ahead - it's slightly cheaper than the ones before it and it suits my time frame perfectly.

I will be travelling alone and am a 26 year old from Ballarat, Vic.

I will also be spending time in London (probably about 4 days) before this trip which means I will be there for New Years.

Never too early to countdown!

We're hoping to be in London from the 27th with plans to stay at the RN. So we'll have NYE in London too Smiler

As for ages, I will be 22 at the time of the trip (and the guys will be 3x21 and 1x22) just in case you were wondering...

And I am so excited. I can't seem to think of anything else but this trip and its starting to become a problem. Have even started getting stuff for it, the Brisbane stores are just bringing out their winter ranges...yay!

(The other trips are likely to be more expensive because they have holidays (Xmas, NYE and leading up to them) and hotels are more expensive then)

Hey ashleigh - any more news on booking? I paid my airfare today because my travel agent got me a really cheap deal through contiki but the only catch was that I had to pay for it within 25 days of booking. I guess it's not a bad thing - it's a big chunk of my costs paid now! I'm flying Malaysian Airlines but unfortunately won't have time for a stopover in KL because I'm a teacher and have to be back in Aus for start of school year - next time maybe..
Would love to meet up in London beforehand. I will be staying at the RN from 29th Dec.

Hi Reynald,

Are you travelling alone? And what are the rest of your tour plans?

Ash

Don't worry too much, you've already made a friend Smiler

Still not sure on flight details but it looks like Emirates so we can stop at Dubai on the way home. At least for 2 of us, the other 3 are doing other stuff.

I really should get them to get on here (instead of just reading) and vouch for themselves...paul, james, are you listening?

As for Checkout London, we looked at it and decided that it wasn't worth it. We plan to stay at RN and do Stonehenge on our own (via train/bus) and an open bus tour, but it still works out cheaper. I want to see a show, but I'd like to pick it myself. There are student tickets available for most shows only on the day, so I think i can still get a cheap one.
Also, the travel pass isn't needed if you're doing the open top bus tour, and in winter they seem to offer 48 hrs for the 24 hr price.

In summary: its winter so its probably cheaper to do it on our own...

My bad, shouldn't have intruded on your thread. I'm also staying at the RN and doing a WW but mines 8-31st. I'll be in London from 2-8 and 31-3.

I'm glad it's only a day trip. We already plan on making the journey up to Edinburgh to see the castle etc.

Funny to see you're going with 4 engineers friends. I'm going with 4 med friends. hehe, you guys at UQ too?
