while doing some research thought I would see if any of you guys had any advice... we are getting to London on the 28th of December and am looking for cheap(ish) places to stay till we leave.. is anyone else getting there early/ have any suggestions

i'm staying at picadilly backpackers
quite cheap. you might have to book througha travel agent though cause pretty suere its booked for public.
its really central right nr oxford st and regent st etc.

Hi Nat, I am arriving in London on the 30th December and am staying at the Generator, which is one of the largest backpackers in London. It was recommended to me by an experienced traveller! It is central and a tube station just across the road.

Does anyone have anything organised in London for new years eve?

Mmm new years eve in London I'm not to sure yet I know tht there is a huge fireworks display by the eye (the ferris wheel looking thing) and of course there is the traditionl Trafalgar square celebrations.... Just depends on whether to brave the crowds or not lol

I am currently living in Canberra, Australia. I am moving to London after the contiki for at least 2 years! Is anyone else making the big move over to the UK?

I am going on the contiki solo, so looking forward to meeting as many people as possible!

It would be great if we could organise something for new years, so we can all get to know each other before the contiki.

Wow! the big move.. that must be exciting for you... I still have some studying to finish so won't be moving anytime soon lol but being a british citzen england/europe is probably somewhere i would move too... Meeting up for New years sounds like a great idea... i was talking to Gemma on Facebook chat yesterday and we both agreed that it would be a great way to get to know everyone ( not to mention fun and safe)

I booked this tour last month. This is my first contiki tour and my first time travelling alone, so I'm excited and scared. Can't wait to meet everyone on the tour
