hey, just wondering if anyone on here is doing the winter wanderer starting on the 10th jan till the 2nd feb? or if anyone has done it, or know any who has and give any tips? ive never travelled or been anywhere cold! im from australia and dont really have cold weather where i live thanks guys
Hey, I'm looking into this tour (the earlier one I wanted was all booked up). I hear it's super cold so layering is best. I have also read that waterproofing your shoes is a good idea so you don't get wet feet while your walking all day.
I am officially on the tour!!! Just booked and I'm super excited. I'm from America so we have winters but not as cold as I hear it gets over there. The hard part will be packing light because winter clothes are bigger than summer clothes.
OMG thats awesome I'm so excited that we found someone else who's going I was starting tot hink my 3 friends and I were it lol... well we're from Sydney Australia so our winter is cold but not that cold, usually a jumper and coat with a scarf is sufficient for early morning/late night so we're realy stressing about the 20kilo limit.
Hey Lilly, I'm 24. How old are you and your friends? Not sure what a "jumper" is and we use pounds (lbs.) for weight so I'm not sure about the kilos either LOL but I'm worried about the weight limit anyway, especially since I'm doing the London and Paris tour before this one. So I'll be in london a day or 2 early if you and your friend come in early as well.
Im 23, and the three other girls are all 21, we are getting to London really really early (6am) on the 9th and plan to spend the whole day sightseeing, (We're staying at royal National) and your more than welcome to join us.
Lol...a jumper is like a sweater (is that the term you guys use?) and kilos is - 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds
Hi Lilly, Yes we call them sweaters or sweatshirts or hoodies. I definitely want to look around London since the previous tour I'm doing has me in London new years day and I hear some things may be closed so I will probably take you up on your offer, thanks! I work full time but I will probably end up quitting my job before I go. Sounds crazy but after the trip I plan on moving to another part of the states and getting a new job. What do you and your friends do?
there is another thread on this - called Winter Wanderer Dec 08! There are a number of people in there that are heading over, so feel free to add to that thread to meet some more on this trip!
My friend and i are booked on this one too, and were both coming from Brisbane!
New years day in London, thats got to be amazing.... I recently graduated and work as a conference and event coordinator... and i had to apply last december o get the 5 weeks of leave :P .. My friend Tee is studying full time and she will have gradtuated by the time we fly and she also works in hospitality alongside her studying and so do Bec and Tiff...
Hi Lilly, That's great that your work gave you the time off. Some jobs wouldn't be so nice about it. I'm sure this trip will be a good way for Tee to celebrate graduating! I graduated last year so this is kind of like a late graduation present to myself! I have to call tomororw to make my hotel arrangements but I think I'm going to stay at the RN. So have you started thinking about things you want to see at each place? I plan on doing some of the optionals, they sound fun.
Ye Tee, bec, and Tiff are all seeing it as a bit of a graduation present to themselves lol... We chose to stay at the Royal National only because we thought it would be easier... we havent really thought about which optionals we want to do...we'll probably do most of them especially the Caberet night....but cause the other three girls have had so much to finish of for University I've basically planned everything so far...lol...
