all i have to say is, bring your camcorder,you will regret not bringing it,my family is so happy with the footage i got,and bring at least 2gb for your camera,i took 2550 pictures.oh ya,have an open mind.choose your excursions wisely,as you only get to be in some towns 1 night,and the excursion can take up to 3 hours when you could be exploring instead.oh ya,and skip the fondue in switzerland,everybody regretted it,well 90% of my tour-maits did, and would rather have went to the swiss alps.trust me,go to the top of mt.pilatus,it is freakin beutiful.oh ya,get lost in every city,it is so cool to wander with your group and just explore.and watch out for PICK-POCKETS in rome,2 people got their pass-ports tooken right out of their pockets,these guys are professional,get a money belt!!! not the kind that goes around your waist,the kind that hangs around your neck like a necklace,its a lot safer,and keep your pass-port in it at ALL times,never keep your pass-port in your back-pack.if you lose it,you pay 200 euros to get another.and one last thing,dont pack too much,i did and threw out so much clothes.dont bring 2 pairs of shoes,1 is good enough,just make sure they are comfortable for walking everywhere.i took 2 pairs,and never wore the other pair,what a waste of space.i couldnt throw them out either,i bought them right before the trip.oh,and when your tour manager says to be somewhere at a certain time,BE THEIR!!i got left at the leaning tower of pisa,i had to find my way back to the hotel by trains and busses,it took me 6 hours to find the hotel,ON MY BIRTHDAY,so they WILL leave you behind.i must say,i am happy they did,i made a mini-documentary that i am gonna look back on and remember for-ever.that was the best birthday present i ever got,seriously.if you got the gonads,get left behind,i promise it will be worth the experience,try to do it with someone else though,i was alone.alone in italy with nobody else that spoke english,SUCH a good experience!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou so much for that info!! Im leaving in 5 days to go on my winter wanderer tour!! Could you please tell me the optionals that are worth the money and are absolute musts!! And also about your video camera. Did you carry it with you in your hand luggage on the plane or did you pack it in your suit case?? Did it get annoying carrying it around with you during the day and out at night?? Sorry for the silly questions but Im panicking, and I dont have much time to get organised and I still dont know if Im going to bring mine or not!!
