Is anyone signed up for this tour yet? I am hoping it will obtain enough people for the gauranteed departure!! My boyfriend and I booked yesterday Also, does anyone have suggestions on the best time to buy flights? They're about $900 right now and I think that's ridiculous. This is so far in advance too!!
Yay!!! Has anyone bought their flight yet? I'm scared to book becuase it's not gauranteed departure. I wonder if anyone knows (approx) how long it takes until contiki gaurantees. I hope it pulls through okay!
Hey guys! I just found out from my travel agent that contiki has to give you notice 45 days before the trip departs. If this happens they try to either get you on another trip that leaves close to your original time or they refund you in full. I am doing this tour in nov 2008 and am hoping it isn't cancelled!!
Yeah my travel agent informed me that they notify you 45 days prior but I am terrified that the airline tickets will cost a lot more closer to the date. I have a friend who does contiki a lot and she keeps telling me I need to wait to buy my tickets until after the holidays because they go on sale then. But I am so tempted to just buy right now because the flights are $810 roundtrip from Los Angeles to Heathrow which seems pretty reasonable to me (then again I have never flown to Europe). I need to purchase that traveler's insurance too...
Shan - I noticed your other posting about the optionals for WW. I have done some MAJOR research on this and already decided what I am going to do (of course, things will change during the course of the tour). I read up a ton on these optionals and decided I am definitely going to opt of the Venetian Dinner (everyone keeps talking about how horrible it was), the Monaco Dinner, the Fondue Lunch (seems to expensive) and possibly the Flamenco Show/Dinner in Barcelona. The one I am most excited about is the dinner in Florence and the Moulin Rouge. It better be what everyone hypes it up to be with that price!!! (That's all I gotta say...) I am really iffy on the Mozart Concert because of the price. I love classical music, but not the real slow kind. So maybe I will post and ask some other opinions on that. Anyway, those are my thoughts so far. Sorry for the rambling!!
No! your not rambling! lol good to hear anothers opinion. Was talking to my cous and we think we might do one or two of the optionals at the most. for the rest we think we will just do a bit of our own touring ( with whoever else wants to come that is). It all adds up a bit too i think!
