hey Alice,
i was getting so worried beause i thought that maybe no one would message me.
anyway i know of yourself and of 1 other girl on the trip, i think it will be fun, just hope we hear of a few more people.
i havent really thought to much about clothing yet but i will start, ive been told layering is the go, and thermals aswell.
as for shoes, probably take some joggers to walk around in and maybe some boots to go out in. it sucks though because its difficult to find clothes these days, same wih shoes, cause of the weather.
if you have messager add me jessicajacq@hotmail.com
talk soon

hi again! thanks for the clothing advice! my house mate went on continue the same time as us last year and layering is definitely the way to go! I'm having huge issues in finding proper shoes as obviously we're coming into summer and there aren't many people who wear winter boots in the heat! Are most of you staying at the Royal National before the tour starts? Also, I'm from Perth, so if anyone is from here, let me know!

hey guys, how are you all? im mel, 22, im from brisbane. ive been speaking to a chick on facebook that went on the WW tour last christmas and she's told me a few awesome tips!
"I took two sets of thermals. Take a pair of track pants and one pair of jeans. I took two coats- but I only needed one because you take them off indoors. I wouldn't say I was ever in a tshirt. Don't take too much stuff and only take stuff you're prepared to part with at the end- because we hand washed all our clothes and by the end of the tour there was no way I could wear them again."
im thinking of doing the whole cash passport thing too...im not sure how much money i'm going to need...any ideas?
i'm also staying at the royal national the night before and after the tour!!

hi everyone! i'm finding it so comforting reading everyone elses msgs as i have the exact same concerns! in regards to jess's problem re money, my housemate and her boyfriend did europe the same time last year as when we're going and they budgeted for $100/dayAUS or for a little bit of flexibility, $1000/wkAUS. the weekly amound sounds like a lot but some days you won't spend much but others you may spend a lot (like in the chanel shop in paris...!). not really, but you know what i mean.im also having issues in finding winter clothing as perth isn't very cold at the moment and shoes are a bit of an issue too! is anyone planning on buying stuff over there? not that i would have the faintest idea where to look but i dont think i'll have much luck here. one last thing, what are you girls thinking of taking re good clothes? ive been reading on other forums to take a dress for special occasions, but is anyone, and how dressy are your dresses? thanks guys! xox

hi alice, i went to kathmandu yesterday and they have a pretty good sale on polar fleece jumpers. my friend in london has said primark is great for shopping cheaply and they're all over london.
as for dressy stuff, i dont really care so long as its warm!! haha. probably just jeans and a good top or something. i'll probably just take one dress - i wear mine to the races, so its not super formal but i can dress it up and down.
i have 22 days till i leave...soo exciting!!!

what is everyone doing after contiki??

Hi all - Ive signed on to do this tour too. Im 23 female, Aussie from QLD, but a good old Sydney uni girl too. Im currently living in London. The weather is cold. Bring stockings. I was in France in September and we were wearing stockings already. I've even been wearing mittens ( i've never done that before). Don't freak out too much if you cant find enough warm clothes at home cuz you can easily find cheap winter stuff here at Primark, H&M and New Look. All effort to look good really goes out the window when its 1 degree Wink. my email is h20_vixen@hotmail.com if anyone wants to get in contact.

hi again everyone! starting to slightly fret; just under a month till i actually leave for europe and still don't have a suitcase! i'm just wondering what the general consensus is with what you're all taking-suitcase or backpack? my flatmate took a backpack but advised me to take a suitcase (not sure why!).I'm doing 2wks before contiki starts; paris, barcelona, nice and milan and using the train but it still makes for difficult deciding! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
