I got home from this trip about a week ago and I can honestly say that they were the best 21 days of my life!!

Our day song was "Holy Grail" by Hunters and Collectors - and for very good reason.  The second you get to St Petersburg and cross the River Neva, you can honestly understand why.

Big tip for those of you doing this tour, though.  The contiki documentation tells you to just catch a cab from the airport, which is fine, and will set you back about 250 DKK, which works out to about $60 Australian.  If you have time, catching the train is just as easy as catching a cab, and will set you back 45DKK, which is a much more affordable option.  When you get to the airport, you need a 4 zone ticket, and catch the train to Kobenhavn-H (Central station), and then you catch the train to Avedove station - from here, you go to the end of the platform, first left, and then first left.  It's a 15 minute walk to the hostel.  (Slightly better than the 2 hour walk from Hvidove station, which we originally took )

Seriously though, this tour is honestly amazing.  Russia is everything you expect it to be.  It does take hours to cross the border into Russia and then into the EU from Belarus, but it's worth it - and anyways, it gives you time to bond with some of the most amazing people you'll ever meet.

But yeah - have fun.  It's a great place, and a great 21 days.
