Hello.

I am going on this 21 day tour which leaves from Copenhagen on August 8.
Is anyone else going on this tour?
Has anyone been on this tour and can offer any tips/advice etc?
I am 24YO from Sydney, Australia.

David and I are also going on the Russia and Scandinavia trip. We are very excited as this will be our honeymoon! I will be 28 and David is 34 (but a young one) and we are from the Wirral (near Liverpool) in the UK.
Aren't the visa's a scary nightmare....?

I am also going on the 21 day tour leaving Aug 8 from Copenhagen.
I know it is not a guaranteed departure, but fingers crossed it does go ahead - I am looking forward to it (we find out if it is going ahead on June 9).

Interesting regarding confirmation, I was told that we would find out on 19 June not 9 June. Anyway, with others mostly booked out hopefully we are alright.

As for Aussies, I'm hoping we don't dominate too much.....I know the reputation Contiki has but hopefully we get a range of nationalities. No offence of course!

How are things going with the visas for you? Contiki forgot to organise the invitation letter for us originally but our travel agent followed it up last week. That should be enough time if we are leaving Aust. on 17 July shouldn't it?

Hello Adam.
My travel agent told me that the Contiki tour will become guaranteed 60 days prior to the tour starting date, which means the 9/6. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh yeah I might have multiple personalities... I realised that the times on this message board are not correct, so I must have posted that message back in March and forgot about it - woops!

No offence taken about the Aussies - I agree, last time I went on contiki we had 80% Australians so it felt like I was at home, not the experience i wanted! It's great to meet other people from around the world.

My agent is posting off my Visa application tomorrow. All seems to be fine. It takes 4 weeks to get it returned, so you should be ok.

Where are you going before the trip?
I leave Australia on July 27 for Ireland before the tour.

Here now so may as well just reply here.

We're off to the U.S. and Canada for 3 weeks before arriving in Copenhagen on the 8th. Leaving on 17 July. Hiring a car and doing it ourself so should be quite different to the Contiki experience.

I guess no news is good news with the trip so we'll just hope we hear nothing for a few more weeks!

So I guess the trip is a confirmed departure then? I haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise and we are past the 50 day cut off. I am a bit confused about the website though, ours is the only trip which doesn't have the tick next to it in the Dates & Rates.

Kat, my wife also has Ukrainian heritage, you should have plenty to talk about! We are actually passing through Toronto on our previous travels, but only on a stopover to Boston.

Good comment regarding the arrival in Copenhagen. We arrive at the airport at 12:05 (add another hour for customs, etc. of course) and would be keen to meet anyone there if the timing works out.

I called contiki to make sure the trip was confirmed about a week ago so I’m not sure why the website is not updated yet. I haven’t received my package yet so I am hoping the visas are not a problem.

Adam and Emma, enjoy your road trip around Can & US, if you were spending some time in Toronto we could meet up, if not I will see you guys in Copenhagen.

I am also going on the Aug 8th trip. I currently living in CA (San Diego). I just moved to CA from New Hampshire, and I am originally from South Florida.

I am getting to Copenhagen on the 7th, is anyone else getting there earlier? I have decided to stay in the hostel for my first night. I am also staying an extra day at the end...but I think I am going to stay in a hotel in downtown copenhagen for my last night. Is anyone else staying extra days?

The trip is only 5 weeks or so away!!

Hey guys.
I'm arriving in Copenhagen on the 7th, so no cab sharing for me. Kara i'm staying at the Contiki Copenhagen hostel on that 7th night if you want to meet up before the tour...
I confirmed with contiki and my agent that the trip is going ahead.
I got my Visa back yesterday from the Russian Embassy - so nothings going to stop me now.
I'm ending the Contiki tour in Berlin and then travelling to Czech Republic and Hungary for another week...is anyone else travelling after the tour?

Yes, lets try to meet up on the 7th. I arrive at about 12:45pm at the airport. So do you want to meet at about 3pm near whatever lobby/reservation area there is at the BELÆGNINGEN Hostel.

Anyone else who is reading this, who will be around on the 7th, is more than welcome to meet us.
