Yeah I'll be at the Royal National but I'm only there on June 19! I have a feeling I probably won't be using the room at all seeing as I have only one night to explore London on my own before the tour kicks off! My group wants to explore the Soho bars and knowing them we're probably gonna be drinking to the wee hours of the morning... Maybe by then you'd know the area so well you can tell us where the good and bad clubs are.

If what Kate says is true about the London to Rome being part of the London to Athens trip than I am on this one as well.

I am from Melbourne and going with a cousin. We will be staying at the Royal National for the 2 nights before the trip.

Van Sereno - I have also heard Soho has a good night life. I am thinking of visiting that area on the first night and getting a good nights sleep on the second because it will probably be my last good sleep for the following 2 weeks!

Hi HH, Yep Kate is definately right about London to Rome being the same tour as London to Athens. Check out this girls blog about her LTR, as you can see she mentions when her group says goodbye to the LTA group that have to continue on to Greece.

Yeah my London friends told me I was crazy for only booking one night because apparently there are hundreds of cool places to check out. I figure I'll do that the next trip, for this one I'm content with the bus tour.

right about not sleeping too much on the tour, my mates that have been on Contiki before told me they slept a lot on the bus - they told me I'd better bring my vitamins!

We are doing the Greek Islands after the tour finishes. We are just in the process of deciding whether we want to do it ourselves or do the Contiki Island Hopping tour! Not too sure yet!!! What are your plans?

I'm Foti's cousin Stav! We're looking forward to the tour as well. We plan on flying back to Athens once the tour is over, and resting for a couple days. Then we are off to the Greek Islands as well. Santorini, Mykonos and maybe one more for a couple weeks worth!!

So... you are getting off the tour in Rome! I am staying on the tour until it ends in Athens. We are def doing the islands after that but still not sure if we want to do it with contiki or by ourselves! We are from the western suburbs - I live in Keilor!!!

I'm so excited about the trip! We are travelling for 3 months in total and we leave in less than 7 weeks!  How long is your trip?

We leave Melbourne on the 17th of June. Stay in London for a couple of nights. We decided not to do the London to Athens tour as we are Greek boys so we thought it would just be easier from there on to do Greece on our own.. I am staying in Europe until the 20th of August. I couldn't get more time off work...

as my cousin said above we will also be going to the Islands for a few weeks but we will do it ourselves.

I will try stay for an extra month and maybe go to a few other countries in Europe that I haven't seen yet.

My group's still trying to make a decision on whether its Santorini or Mykonos, we know for sure we don't want to be in the Contiki Resort or island hopping tour. We reckon by this stage we wanna try something different and explore just one island properly for a good handful full of days before we catch a plane back home by mid july. Guess we'd all love to extend it a bit and stay longer but a lot of us couldn't get the time off work. I'm leaning towards Santorini coz my Greek mates say its better.
