Hey Cindy,

Glad to hear you are booking an extra night in New Orleans. I think the hotel is called Pyrtania Park Hotel in New Orleans.

I'm sure the American side of Niagra falls is just as great. The Maids of the Mist tour takes your right up to them so it'll be just as good.

I'm hoping to see a couple of Broadway shows in New York. Definitely want to see Guys and Dolls and would love to try and get tix for the Lion King also...but whatever they have going at the half price ticket booth will be okay with me. I love musicals.

When will you be in New York? Straight after New Orleans?

I'm currently working as a PA/Office Admin for a Chartered Accountants...not for much longer though Smiler

Hope you have a great weekend.

Hey Chad,

It's good to see another Aussie on the tour!

When do you fly back to Australia?

Hi Lisa,

I've just booked my extra night in New Orleans - at Pyrtania Park Hotel. I wonder how many other people will be staying extra nights there. I would have liked to stay longer but I am flying back to Adelaide on the 4th of June.

I ended booking that Niagra Falls tour. It looks really amazing from the photos. I am really looking forward to it.

I'm going to be in New York from 27 May to 4 June. Will you be there during that time?

What is Guys and Dolls about? I think that some Broadway shows would be amazing. I didn't know about the half price ticket booth! Really? I will have to check it out when I'm there.

When do you finish up at your job?

Not long now!!!!

Cindy

Hey Cindy,

Glad to hear you have booked Niagra Falls...you will have a great time! If you get the chance to do a helicopter ride, its awesome!

I fly into New York on June 1 and leave June 7 so we'll definitely have to catch up in New York and see a show together or something. Will be good to know someone there. Where abouts are you staying in New York?

To be honest I don't really know what Guys and Dolls is totally about, I know some of the songs but its supposed to be really good and Lauren Graham who was in Gilmore Girls is in it, so I wanted to see her.

Yes the half price ticket boothe is in Times Square...you can rock up just half an hour before a show starts and usually get some good seats to a show.

I haven't handed in my resigation yet (not looking forward to that part) but hoping to finish up on April 9...yes its definitely getting excited now!!

Lisa.

Hey Lisa,

I'm in the process now of booking my LA accommodation/tours. I have left it so late! I am going with a package from Creative Holidays. It's 4 nights at the Best Western Sunset Plaza with 3 day tours to Disneyland, Universal Studios and LA City/Stars' Homes. It's a shame we won't be in LA at the same time because it would have been good to do some of the LA tours with someone else. I'm going to be on my own the entire time I'm in LA.

Who are your international flights with by the way? I am flying with QANTAS. A friend of mine here in Adelaide is going to the US a month after I do and she is going with VAustralia. I didn't know about them when I booked my flights.

Where are you staying in New York? I will be staying at two different hotels. I will be staying at Hotel Pennsylvania and the Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel. The reason for the two hotels is because of the Niagra Falls 2-day tour in between.

It would be great to catch up again when you're in New York. Guys and Girls sounds really interesting. I used to love the Gilmore Girls so it would be great to see Lauren Graham in real life.

Good luck with handing in your resignation! I actually had 2 job interviews last week. One is for the position that I am currently acting in, so I hope that I get that position - especially because they have already approved my leave.

I hope you're having a nice weekend!

Cindy

Hey Cindy,

I thought I'de give you my email address incase you wanted to email me instead of posting on here - it is zippy8282@hotmail.com - are you on Facebook? There's a group of people who are doing the whole Grand Southern so from LA through to New York who are on there.

I'm staying at the Milford Plaza Hotel in New York. Yeah I wish we were in LA the same time as well...I will be doing Disneyland, Universal plus a couple of day tours on my own also. Are you going to be staying at the Best Western Stovall's Inn before our tour starts? I have 2 nights there inbetween tours (which I'm sure will be spent trying to recover from my first tour).

Good luck with getting the job you want!! Hope it works out for you.

Lisa.

Hi,
I'm booked onto this tour (cannot WAIT- have never been to America before)- I'm 19 and from England.

I'm travelling solo too- was reassured when I read that about 70% of Contiki travellers are solo.

This is my first Contiki Razzer- I'm arriving in LA on May 14th, doing the tour to NO and then flying to NY independently, where I may or may not be meeting a friend who is also visiting (depending on her arrangements) before flying home on May 30th. I'd love to stay longer but I'm a cash-strapped student LOL Big Grin

Soooo excited, and really grateful that this forum exists as I'm sure I'll have truckloads of questions in the coming weeks!

Hi Cindy,

I fly out to LAX on 13/5, and am staying at the "Quality Inn" (on the same road as the Contiki hotel but CHEEEP =D) for the night.

Am interested to see whether anyone else who is finishing their tour in NO is flying onto NY...I could do with a hostel buddy! Am going to post on the Facebook wall about it- thanks for the link!

Can't wait!

Sophie
