HEY!! I'm going with my step sister on this tour! We are from Canada. I'm pretty excited. Kind of worried now though after reading some posts that I might not have enough money saved up.

Forgot to say Heya im Criddy, 24, from Manchester in the UK!
Im glad that atleast i won't be the only person sat on the bus! Hehe. I've fully paid up my trip today so definately on this trip now.

Got 2 months to do my saving,i applied for a credit card with my bank cos it says in Contiki literature that most activities can be paid for by Credit. It's worth a look for money issues. But you do have to pay it off sometime! Hehe.

Awesome! Looks like we will be travelling together! What kind of activities do you think you might go on? My step Sis and I picked out for the most part what we want to go on, we have a couple things that are different. But I have already put aside that money. Credit card is clean for now..but who knows with Christmas in a couple weeks.

Cool Smiler Yeah i've gone through the activities and worked out money if i did all the ones i want. Best start selling things on ebay! Was looking at things like 'awesome adventure' day trip in Bay of Islands, Heli Hike on fox glacier and at some point maybe a canyon swing! Bungee is out cos i don't like upside but i figure swinging is ok. Hehe.
What kind of things were you guys thinking about?

Well for the most part my sister and I agree on what we want to do except the last day. I don't like bungee jumping either. I looked at the pictures & though it seems cool I can not plumet to the earth head first...not a cool idea to me. We are doing one of the Heli hikes on fox glacier, the less strenious one. What's the canyon swing? I'm doing the day trip on the Canamaran, she's not (so far). The jet ski later in the tour with the white water rafting, the black water rafting. Those are the ones that stick out in my head. I can't believe how close it is getting now! Just out of curiousity, and please don't take offense, is Criddy short for something?

It's all pretty similiar stuff to what I was thinking too. There's loads to choose from though, I'l prob just end up wanting a day off from running around everywhere!
Canyon Swing is a slightly less extreme version of bunjee, still have to jump of bridge but it's all upright and you dont bounce around , just kinda swing back and forth. Just like a giant, more scenic version of a back garden swing. I may chicken out though! Hehe.
Yeah Criddy is short for Ceridwen. Both are strange names but Criddy's a lot easy for people to say so i stick with that! It's from my Welsh family. I can't believe its only like 2 months away! I still have planning to do, so disorganised! x

With every day I am more and more excited. Really, I'm not counting this month at all. So in a way I'm freaked out, but totally excited! Your flight must be really long! Do you get to fly direct? I have to go to Vancouver, then to LA, and then finally to NZ. I'm excited to go to LA, because my lay over is 7 hours, since I've never been I am hoping to leave the airport. If I can't leave I'm going to scour LAX for celebrities!

Hey everyone -- I'm thinking of doing Sun and Steam starting Auckland Feb 17th, which is the exact same tour as this, but is only the first 4 nights.

I did Scenic Southern a few years ago and it was awesome! You will have so much fun!!

Is anyone arriving in Auckland for a few days before the tour starts?

Happy Holidays!
Helen
