Hi,

I had planned to go travelling with a friend, starting January 2008 but have only recently found out she can't come for the whole trip. As a result I decided to start off on my own and booked onto the NZ Grand Explorer 27th Jan 2008 (and OZ - Reefs & Rainforests (reverse) with sailing option 24th Feb 2008). This is all new to me so wondered if there are any other lone travellers out there going on these trips?!

Yeah I know what you mean, I have not really had time to think about it all as work has been really busy but I finish on the 21st December so I am sure it will all hit me then!

What trips are you booked on??

Have you done all the trips on your own??

Hey, I'm on the grand explorer starting Jan 27th in Auckland too. Travelling alone as well, but how hard is it to make friends... really.

I am possibly up for Zorbing and Sky diving but at the moment the bungee jump is a no no (that does not mean I can't be persuaded!!)

Do the bridge climb in sydney if you can afford it and the great barrier reef trip!!

I am Helen a 23 yr old female from the UK (Hertfordshire).

Thanks for the tips. I am doing the sailing but not sure why as I get sea sick, I think I just decided that it was a once in a lifetime trip (well possibly not coz I hope to get as much travelling out of life as possible!) and I should make the most of doing everything.

I have all my tickets, have most the stuff I need to pack although not sure if I will have the right clothes so am almost ready to go!

Me.
Travis, 25, Male, Canada

I'm not getitng into Auckland til 7:30am on the 27th.... even though I leave on the 25th and fly for 18hrs somewhere in there I lose the 26th :P

I'm pretty mush willing to anything, I want to do the 3 bungee jumps, zorbing is a must and the 12,000 ft sky dive is tempting me. Looking forward to meeting y'all, god I need this vacation.

I think I may save thinking about the sky diving until I do my Oz trip, I do not want to do everything too soon or I will have nothing to look forward to in Oz!

Is everyone going back home straight after the tour has ended?

When do you guys finish the tour?

Im on the kiwi ex bus from the 4th feb til the 17th then i fly back to london on the 18th, so basically im around the south island for about two weeks!
Go sky diving in aus! I was meant to do it, but a encounter with a jelly fish the day before = swollen foot and the TM suggested it would be better for me not to do it! Apparantly i was very unlucky didnt even realise it was a jelly fish sting until i got back to sydney and a friends neighbour whose an A+E nurse took a look at it!!
