Cool, I won't be going to bed too late either as i have to be at the airport early for an 11am flight home.

I've bought a waterproof jacket and I'm going to take lots of hoodies to wear under it and a big scarf. I don't think its supposed to be freezing when we're there though.

Going to take mostly cmobat trousers and tracky bottoms to wear during the day and for when we're sitting on the bus and maybe 1 or 2 pairs of jeans.

Are any of you guys taking a smart jacket?

My flight home on the 12th is in the afternoon, so I'll check out of the hotel in Christchurch and wander around for a few hours I spose. With packing, I don't really have any warm jackets. I guess I'll have to buy one. Otherwise, I can just wear several layers instead. My problem is shoes. I have a habit of taking too many. The rest will be t-shirts, trackies, 3/4 pants, and jeans. A couple nice outfits for when we go out. And my hair straightener :-P.

I will definitely have my hair straightners - never go anywhere without them and also some curling tongs! I'm just going to take trainers, flipflop type things and a pair of high heels, 2 nice tops and some going out jeans aswell i think.

lol@hair straightner! That is also on the top of my list of things to bringSmiler
By smart jacket, is that a light jacket for cool weather not necessarily freezing weather? If so, yes, the jacket I am going to bring comes apart (you can unzip the inner layer for days when it isn't very cold). Also going to bring a scarf as well, some gloves and a tuque.

I wonder if we get wakeup calls in the morning or if it is up to us to make sure we're up on time. If so, I better remember my alarm clock because I am a deep sleeper.

Hmmmm! I should really start thinking about what clothes and shoes I am going to take. I have all my toiletries etc. already sorted, but don't know about the rest!

Will bring mainly jeans and tops I think. Maybe some leggins with long tops and nice tops to go with jeans for going out in the evenings. I had the perfect jacket for the trip, but then the colours ran in the wash and it was ruined!! Will have to have a look for another one now...

Yeah, I think layers is the key. I always find it hard to decide what shoes to take on travels and I always end up taking a pair (or two Smiler)that I never end up wearing, so I am going to try and be better this time!

Oh and re: getting up in the morning, the last time I did a Contiki we did get a wake up call, so if they all work the same, you should be fine. But you might still like to have your own alarm clock - in case you want more time to get ready than the wake up call will give you Smiler

You got wake up calls? Well, now I feel ripped off, we didn't get any when I did my contiki tours! My trusty phone was my alarm clock. I woke up to the sound of the Beatles every morning :-).

Think I'll use my phone as my alarm clock. By smart jacket I meant one for wearing with a nice pair of jeans and a top in the evenings. If I have room I think I'll try to squeeze it in. Hadn't thought about gloves but its a good idea. Must start getting a list of what to take together.

Yeah, can't wait! I think that I might bring a pillow for the bus. We'll see...it depends on how much space I have in my backpack.

yes I'm travelling solo, and I'm flying from Adelaide in South Australia. I can't believe how fast it's come up, but I'm so excited to get away from work for a while!

I've got a really small pillow I was thinking of bringing with me but will depend on space too.
