I'm staying at Hotel So too. I'm going to be staying in Christchurch for three days, then off to Australia for a few weeks before heading back home to Canada.

Hi all, I'll be staying the last night and going home on the 12th. My flight's in the afternoon and hotel check-out is like, 10am, so I guess I'll wander around Christchurch for a few hours before I go to the airport. How much of Christchurch do we see on the tour? I'm staying at the Contiki hotels in both Auckland and Christchurch. The Auckland one is more expensive than I would like but i'll be by myself and it looks like a nice place.

Have you guys decided which optionals you're going to do? The only one I know for certain is the bungee jumping - thrillogy.
The other ones I'm still deciding on.

Think I want to do the black water rafting and I would really really like to do a sky dive but not sure I'm brave enough. Definitely NOT doing a bungee. Want to go horse riding too but that's gonna hurt as I haven't done it since I was a kid!

Skydiving would be a lot of fun!

I'm not sure how much of Christchurch we see. I was wondering about that too.

I'm a happy medium as well. Not much of a drinker at all really. As for Halloween, Australia doesn't celebrate it so it's highly unlikely NZ does. We might get lucky and find a bar or club that does though.

For the optionals, I'm doing the 9000ft sky dive, definitely. One of you is gonna have to remind me how much I want to do it, in case I try to chicken out at the last minute :-P. I'm also gonna do the horse riding, although I'm the same as Pippa, haven't done it in years so it's gonna HURT! The black water rafting sounds like fun, and the day on the catamaran. NOT the bunjee jumping, urgh. Only 2 months to go, it's coming up so fast.
