*Thought I might post this up purely out of interest*
So is anyone coming on the Grand Explorer from the 5th March - 19th March? I booked my trip ages ago so I've been looking forward to this for months. I'm in desperate need of a break right now!

Hey dude, just signed up for the same tour. I'll be in Auckland early morning on 4 mar if you want to check out the city before the tour starts. I'm coming from the States, though, so i might be wiped by the time I arrive.
I also fly in on the morning of the 4th from Perth, Australia. It's about the same number as time zones to Auckland as the west coast of the U.S., so I might be just as wiped out as you!
Anyway, I'm certainly happy to catch up at some point the day before (assuming I'm not already asleep!).

Cool. I'm not sure what I'll be up for, but I'm sure I'll want to check out Auckland nightlife. Leave a message at the Mercure for Rod Friend if you want to hang out.
HEY HEY!!!! been lookin for some people who are goin on this tour too, but kinda only worked out that i had to join this site...etc etc...4 DAYS peeps!..me and my twin sister will be joinin the P-A-R-T-Y bus...i believe! lol...were leaving from PERTH too, so dranther we may possibly be on the same place...So, ya were also stayin at the Mecure on the morning of the 4th!...so ya....Names are; Sam and Suz
Awesome! Glad to hear there are going to be cool people on the trip My flight gets in from Los Angeles at 6 AM....we should all go out for some breakfast when we arrive. I'm looking forward to meeting y'all.
Well our flight is supposed to land at 5:30am, so assuming Auckland Airport isn't massively huge (I doubt it - it's not as if we're going to London) then it'd be quite easy for us to wait around for half an hour and meet up with you before heading in for breakfast.
So what do you girls think? I'm certainly up for that.

I'll look for you guys at the baggage claim area...I'm on Qantas 26 from LA. There's a shuttle to the city center, but if we all could share a cab, it'd probably be cheaper. I'll look for a tall guy with a beard and long hair accompanied by two Aussie twinnies...in contrast, I'm a short guy with short brown hair and no beard..though after my twelve and half hour flight, I'll be scruffy...yuck! If we don't cross paths for some reason (flight delays, etc) just leave a message for Rod Friend at the mercure....they said they can check us in early if they have rooms, but I've never known a hotel to let people check in so early...I just plan to store my luggage and go sightseeing or something. Only a couple of days to go!
Ok..by the sounds of how this is pannin' out were all gonna be completley..."zombafied" when we step off the plane! so a good olde' greasy brekky sounds like the perfect ticket to start a perfect holiday! hahaha, i guess we should look for the MOST TIRED people in the airport...all lookin scruffy! =) not long now..WOOT WOOT....
DONT CURSE THE FLIGHT!!!...now that uve said that u realise, something is going to go horribly wrong and now we can ALL BLAME YOU! hehehe...not long now guys! hehehe......

Well last I checked, I don't think we're flying over any mysterious islands filled with electromagnetic anomalies, polar bears, mysterious hatches and plot lines that go on for way too long, so we should be fine.
