We're just going into Autumn now, the last few mornings are starting to feel a bit cool, but it's still not bad. The days heat up to 25 or 26 deg. celcius (don't know what that is in deg. Ferenheit). But most of us are wearing light sweaters already (we're not used to cold, in fact I've never even seen real snow!)

Then if you are already wearing light sweaters, I would plan to bring some heavier sweaters, just in case. I believe the temperature usually averages between 10 to 20 degrees celcius, with afternoons being warmest and mornings and evenings much cooler. I would plan to bring what you normally wear when the temperature reaches that range. Also, London is usually cooler than Paris, so the average high there at this time of the year may only be 15 degrees C.

Browren, Thanks for the advice.

Jessica, yes we are, maybe we could meet-up at the airport. We're also planning on taking the underground.

How long will your flights be? We'll have to endure about 10 hours.
Does enyone have an idea how you get some sleep while on board?
Whats the time difference for you guys? London's only 1 hour different for us & Paris is the same.

My flight is only about six hours with about a four hour time difference. I'll be flying direct from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada to London with a plan to sleep the entire time.

For me to sleep on a plane I try to get a window seat so I'm not disturbed by others, wear comfy clothes, us a neck pillow, take off my shoes, and take some Gravol (an anti-nausea medication) about a half hour before before I board the plane. The Gravol helps me relax, deal with the movement of the plane, and as a side effect it induces sleepness.

AHH I HAVE ABOUT A 9 HOUR FLIGHT, THE TIME DIFFERENCE I THINK IS 6 HOURS. ITS GOING TO BE A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE FOR ME. IM MUST SLEEP IN THE PLANE BECAUSE I LEAVE MIAMI @ 5PM AND GET TO LONDON A LITTLE AFTER 6 IN THE MORNING SO THE DAY IS JUST GOING TO GET STARTED AND IM ALREADY GOING TO BE DEAD TIRED. ITS JUST SO DIFFICULT TO SLEEP DURING A FLIGHT, I HOPE BRITISH AIRWAYS HAS COMFY SEATS.
CATHY LET ME HAVE YOUR EMAIL SO I CAN WRITE YOU THERE ABOUT MEETING UP. I DONNOT WANT SOME WEIRDO SHOWING UP SINCE WE ARE PUTTING THIS OUT TO THE PUBLIC LOL

Oh, another thing I usually try to combat jet lag is in the days leading up to my trip I try to go to bed a half hour earlier each night and get up a half hour earlier each morning, moving my daily routine up a half hour earlier each day. So, if I start four or five days before I leave for my trip, my body has already started adjusting to eating and sleeping earlier by two hours. So, by the time I reach London I'll only have to make a two hour transition with my body's internal clock instead of four.

The time difference for me is the same as Browren 4 hours since I'm flying from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. My flight isn't direct so I think its about 9 hours altogether on a plane with 2 hours at the airport on the stopover in Newark, NJ so its going to be a long day we leave Moncton at 6 am and don't get to London until 9:20 pm.

Sounds like we've all got long flights ahead of us. We also fly overnight. I agree about the weirdos, Jessica. My email adress is cathylouw@gmail.com

Taylor, was the price difference to go through Newark all that great? I know when I was looking the extra hassel of going through customs twice and the extra time was not worth saving about $75. Do you mind me asking what you paid for your flight?

Hey everyone!
My name is Amanda, I'm 22 and also from Prince Edward Island! This is my first time overseas and I'm also traveling by myself, planning to meet up with my cousins in Switzerland after the tour. I'm also taking the direct flight from Halifax to London on Wednesday, so maybe we could meet up and find our way to the hotel?

Hey Amanda,
What part of PEI are you from?
Where are you staying the extra 2 nights before the tour starts? My friend Sarah and I are staying at a hostel that is about 10 mins from the Imperial Hotel!
