HI EVERYONE IM JESSICA, FEMALE, 21 LOOKING TO MAKE FRIENDS BEFORE THIS TRIP. TRAVELING ALONE FOR THE 1ST TIME WITH CONTIKI AND FEELING REALLY WEIRD ABOUT IT LOL
Hey Jessica, I'm Lesley. I'm doing the London & Paris + Amsterdam tour beginning May 1st. So, I think we'll be travelling together in London and Paris, and then the people who are continuing to Amsterdam break-off from the rest of the group.
I'm 25, female, and travelling alone. This will be my second Contiki tour. I did a Contiki tour in Australia last year and it was amazing. So, I'm travelling with Contiki again.
Travelling alone can seem a bit daunting at first, but once the tour gets going you will have so much fun and all of your worries will fly out the window!
Where are you from? I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Hi Jessica and Lesley. I'm Browren. It sounds like I'll be travelling with you both for the first little bit, but I'll be staying on for the two extra days in Paris.
I'm 29, female, and also travelling alone. I'll be travelling from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and will be arriving in London two days before the start of the tour.
I wouldn't worry too much about travelling alone. This is my second Contiki tour on my own and I found that most people on the trip were also travelling alone. I knew no one at the start of my trip, but by the end I had made some really great friends from around the globe.
HEY LADIES! SOOO ARE YOU GUYS SHARING A BEDROOM WITH SOMEONE? IM NOT REALLY COMFORTABLE SHARING A ROOM WITH A STRANGER BUT GOD THE $300 DOLLARS TO STAY IN A ROOM FOR YOURSELF IS HEFTY
Yes, I will be sharing a room with someone, but I don't know who!!! I was nervous about it at first when I did my first Contiki tour in Australia, but it was absolutely fine. Everyone is so friendly. In Australia, we were four to a room, so we had to work out shower/bathroom schedules, but everyone was very flexible.
Just keep in mind that everyone's there to have fun, and they're probably nervous too about sharing a room with a complete stranger. It'll all work out. Plus, it's better to save the $300 and have the potential to meet some great new people. I don't know what it will be like on this tour, but in Australia we didn't room with the same person every night, so we got a chance to meet lots of different people on the tour.
It's going to be great! We're getting close now, but not close enough! I cannot wait
I'll be sharing a room with an unknown person too. I was nervous about it at first, but I got over it quickly on my last tour. I was paired up with two great roommates, as one left part way through the tour and then I was paired up with someone new. It is a great opportunity to really get to know someone on the tour and make new friends. On my last tour only two paid to have a private room and the rest of us who were travelling alone were paired up, without any major problems.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most often you are in your room very minimally, just to sleep. So, the hardest part is figuring out who showers first. Just pray that they don't snore too much!
HEY EXPLORER, WHAT IS YOUR NAME?? WELL LADIES THIS IS REALLY EXCITING! HEY LESLEY AND BROWREN YOU GUYS HAVE PICS FROM YOUR OTHER TRIPS?? I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM
Sorry, I don't have AIM and my photos aren't posted here. However, my photos are posted on Facebook, so if you search for me there, you should be able to see them. If not, just friend me, and that should do it.
