Hi everyone

I am also on this tour. NY is basically my first stop (apart from my night in Hawaii on the way - did anyone else have that idea coming from Australia?!) on my 3 month trip around the world. After New York my next stop is Europe! I'm so excited! Is everyone getting there a day or a couple of days before the tour starts?

Jasmine and kangakelly,

I'll be arriving early the day before too, so at least we know *someone* will be around!  I'm not sure who my roomate will be either, I'm kind of nervous (although I'm sure you're all very nice girls :P).  Can't wait for the tour to start!

Hey there

I am also arriving on the 29th too, I think at about 9am. Does anyone want to meet up to do some sight seeing beforehand as I am assuming that we probably can't check in until later anyway..??

That sounds like a great idea!  I arrive around 10:30.  I think check in time in NY is generally around 3, so I'll have a few hours to burn!

Jamsine, I can't believe you are getting in at 1230am! That's crazy - what are you going to go when you get there?

Hi All-

I'm a New Yorker who's been on several Contiki trips throughout Europe and love em!  Traveling has become such a passion for me over the past few years.  The sights are great - but the people you meet are the best part!  Living in NYC, I'm not so much interested in the tourist stops, but would be happy to show some "out-of-towners" the local spots in Manhattan - mainly the bars/pubs where the natives frequent.  I live in the East Village - which is great for cozy, unique spots.  I'm always looking for a good night out and like meeting new friends.  I do work full time during the day - but available weeknights and most weekends.  Feel free to email me if I can offer any advice.  I hope you'll love NYC, and think it's the greatest city in the world like I do!

Best-
Dave

Hi Scottish_Lassie, sorry about the delayed reply, haven't been on this website for ages. Anyways, I will be visiting relatives in Anaheim after the big explorer tour, I check in the holiday Inn the day before our tour starts, so I will see you guys there.....I'm was starting to think no one was going on the wild western tour! Not long to go now! yeepy!!

Hey Jasmine

Yea, maybe out the front, or even in the lobby. Do you want to make a
time?? Although seeing as though you are gettting in earlier you may
want to go off somewhere in the morning and may not want to have to
come back to meet in the afternoon as I am assuming that it would take
at least an hour and a half to get from the airport to the hotel cause
I am thinking of catching a shuttle bus.......??

Thanks for the offer Dave!

Cheers

Vanessa

Well it is finally here.

Picked up my paper work today and now it really feels like it's only a few days away (probably won't take much longer than that considering how fast this year has gone by).

Looking forward to meeting all of you. I will be arriving into JFK in the afternoon of the 29th.

See you then!

Heya Vanessa,

I'll be catching a shuttle bus too from the airport and heading straight to  the beacon. the beacon is open for 24hrs so you can check in anytime. The travel agent confirmed that for me by calling the beacon. So we can meet in the lobby of the beacon. You're arriving at 930am, right? so we could meet maybe 11.30am or 12md. what do you think? let me know.

Jasmine =)
