I am doing the Eastern Discovery before this tour, but either way should be on the tour =)
Why don't you do the ED before? Or is after better for you?

I will let you know what I am doing with NY, because I would love to have a someone to do it with lol ( solo travvie).

I found a great New York City Pass - entry into basically everything and anything for about $105 over 3 days or something. So then I thought why don't I just get that pass ( because there is literally HEAPS I want to see) and just pay accomo.

ahh decisions =) But decisions that will be made today.
If you are interested in sharing acco let me know, it becomes a whole lot cheaper!

I'm lookin at doing the wild west tour first before heading over to new york to do the eatern so can't do that one earlier unfortunately, haven't found anyone doin it yet!!!
Did you end up booking this trip? I wonder how much the difference would be doin it on your own compared to tour?

I found a good accomodation deal and tour deal seperately ( only because I want to spend a couple of extra days in NY).
But I haven't booked either. The hotel deal I found, I need to find someone ... so any takers on about AUD 85 pp p night I think at a Marriott hotel? =)

hey ladies, i too am doing this tour.. very excited.. annd i basically looked at doing it solo and doing this and its way cheaper to do the explorer) theres a few of us doing it after the ED/GS tour

Hey, yeah I thought it would work out much cheaper too! Especially as I got an extra night at the hotel before the tour starts and it cost round $200 with the contiki discount!!! Good to hear there are others doing it, can't wait, should be fantatstic!!

Hi, I've booked on this Explorer as well. It's definitely cheaper to do New York this way as hotels are so expensive especially near Time Square. I arrive in NY the Friday before to catch up with friends so hopefully I’m not going to do too much overlapping.

I've set up a Facebook group “Contiki New York Explorer 20 to 23 October 2009” for everyone to join and use.
