Hi all Contiki Travellers,

My wife Janelle and I are going to be on the Big Apple Explorer Tour from the 30th Oct to Nov 2nd. We would love to hear from anyone who is going to be on the same tour. We are from Adelaide in Australia. It would be great to hear from someone either from Oz also or from anywhere else around the world. We can't wait.

We are also going to be on the Wild Western Tour from the 10th Oct to 22nd Oct if people will be doing that one as well. See you out there.

im also doing this tour.
im doing a contiki europe tour, then flying to usa for a few days in phoenix and vegas, before the NY tour. Im having another 2 more days in NY after, before travelling home.
i cant wait, ive always wanted to go to NY!!

hi all i am from lismore near byron bay aus i am still thinking about going on this tour i will have just finished the grand southern tour from la to ny so don't know how i will be but i do think i will be doing it. if anyone is doing the greand southern tour then the big apple tour please let me know.

Glad to hear the numbers are slowly increasing for this tour. Should be a great experience. I don't think you will even be thinking about being tired if you just continue straight onto this tour. Not long to wait now. Catch ya.

i am so excited! not long to go now. its only just over 2 months until i leave for europe, then its on to the US. I hope more people sign up for this tour, its gonna be great!!

Hey everyone,I'm NOT going on this tour but I've travelled with Contiki and would like to offer some advice:

If you plan on taking a credit card to Europe, you may want to call your credit card company to let them know you'll be travelling so they don't think the card has been stolen and cut you off.

Another thing I recommend is carrying your cash in a money belt, I find it safer.

Plan on spending $100-$150 USD per day. You'll have to buy lunches daily, souveneirs, some dinners and going out at night. You should try exchanging money before you leave. You'll have to chance to do so on the tour, but easier to get that part out of the way and have one less thing to worry about.


When you pack, throw some clothing into your carry-on to lighten the weight of the suitcase and in case your luggage gets lost. Leave room for souveneirs & carry with you an extra copy of your pasport and hotel address list.

In terms of weight of luggage, it's the airlines that are more strict than Contiki. Each airline has their own weight threshold & will only be too glad to charge you extra for going over. You can find out the limit/rules by going on the airline's website.
