I don't know if everyone is aware that there was a recent bombing in a popular tourist market in Egypt, where a number of people were injured including a number of French tourists (including a 17yr old who died). I'm interested in people's views on this.

I personally don't think there'll be too much of a problem when it comes to the Egypt leg of our tour (for those who are doing the option), plus as of yet the Australian Smart treveller website hasn't raised the threat level of Egypt.

However, in the worst case scenario, and (say there are more attacks, or a greater security threat), do people believe Contiki would cancel the Egypt part of the tour for security reasons?

Regardless of recent events, i'm still looking forward to Egypt.

Have been keeping an eye out since Im going on the Egypt leg but as for now hopefully its just a oneoff. Something I guess we have to expect in this day and age especially in Middle Eastern countries. Anywhere for that matter

As for cancelling, maybe if **** really hits the fan. If more attacks do take place closer to the time they may possibly try to avoid crowded touristy areas in inner cairo the day or two that we're there??
