I may be rushing ahead a bit haha i finish my course end of 08 and want to get straight into travelling overseas, in Europe. So me and a mate have planned to do the ultimate during march which is when the tour is first offered. Dont know if anyone else plans as far ahead as we do haha but if you do let us know would be great to meet some people....cheers!

Hi guys,
I dont think any time is too soon to be planning a trip of a lifetime like this. I am also looking at doing the trip in March (hopefully 28th if they are running like this years dates). I am from Busselton (a fellow down souther) and have a group of 7 friends who are also possibly interested at this stage....its going to be awesome!!!

Hi guys, doesnt UE sound like a blast!!! i cant wait!! im 21 and ill be heading off on my own, scary but cant wait, the independent feeling you get from doing this on your own is exhilirating!! and ill definately be heading to egypt, mykanos sounds great but you get to do similar things like snorkel on the reef and go out, yet you get to experience egypt and the pyramids!!

i was planning on going in 08 around august but now that i have reassessed my financial situation..... im probly looking at going in 09 now!! ive heard that march is a great time to go especially if your looking at doing the Egypt option, as its alot cooler than say June- Sept (50 degrees +).

iv'e had a look at a few travelogues as i have absolutely NO IDEA of what to do and i've found this one to be the most in depth and informative....

hope it helps Smiler

Hi all
I am so glad that I am not the only planning this far ahead. I definitely have my sights on this trip. I too will be heading over on my own. Have wanted to travel for ages and thought better to do it before I get too old. At this rate I may be the oldest one in the group going....LOL.. I am very excited. I will be doing the Greece option and then after to tour finishes I am off to New York and LA before heading back to Melbounrne. So excited, it is going to be a BLAST.

Hey everyone, I too am thinking of doing the UE in March/April 2009, definitely doing the Egypt option. I wasn't really sure about doing a tour vs. living and traveling on my own/with a friend in Europe but I'm thinking that a tour might be easier.

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking ahead this far. I'm 22 now but will be almost 24 by the time I do the trip, probably by myself, is that going to make me heaps older than the rest of you?!

Also, anyone have any idea of the total cost of the tour? How much money am I looking to save?

This trip should be awesome Smiler

Hey katva,

no you wint be old!! i wouldnt stress about that at all, groups will gel no matter what age!!! im 21 now and i should be doing mine in 09/10 and that will make me about the same age, i seriously dont think it matters!!

ive had a look at a few different websites and for my trip (although i am staying 9 days in a few other countries) has budgeted out to be around the AU$25000 mark taking into account that i dont want to skimp on anything and this also includes 4 one way flights and accommodation in london for 4 nights, and edinburgha nd sscotland for 3 nights in each country. i am a spender and have allowed for extra in case i get into any problems..... thats just an idea for you to go off....

you will have an awesome time!!!

It's probably way too early to be asking this question but what are any of you planning to do after the tour? I'm considering doing the Scandinavia and Russia tour afterwards, and then possibly staying on in London for a while. My only real issue is money, this trip will cost a fortune! It would be good to work in London/Europe for a few months or more but I'm not really sure how to go about it. I do have a EU passport in addition to my Kiwi one which helps. Any suggestions?

Great to see so many from the south of WA here. I am from Bunbury but now live in Darwin.
Take Care all and if anyone is travelling in Aug09 please let me know.

Hey Lostsoul201,

I am travelling on my own and I am budgeting 100 euros per day. That isnt including the optional extra's either. From what I can gather from reading travel logs and through the message boards, 100 euro/day would be comfortable to travel on. It also depends on how much you are planning to party.

mcjodes01 has suggested an awesome website to visit which will probably answer most, if not all your questions about the UE.

Take Care,
Renee
